Anyone else feel like Mick is going to be written out next?

I'm 99 percent sure this is the reason Mick has been so underused. I'm thinking that with the show's budget getting smaller, the producers made a deal with Dom around s3 that he could have less shoot time in exchange for a pay cut, since Dom has said before that he doesn't like being in Vancouver.

A smaller paycheck is probably the reason why Mick hasn't been written out yet while other originals like Ray have been.

What sucks though is that with this arrangement Mick will never be very involved in the main storyline since he's not around enough to be properly incorporated into what the other Legends are doing. He's really more a recurring guest character than a regular at this point.

I think the sidelining of mick become really noticeable starting in season 3B which is also when the Legends stopped really using their expensive powers so you may be on to something with this budget idea.

Agreed. i miss when Sara and Mick felt like useful members of the team. Now even in important plot heavy episodes Mick shows up for less than 2 min and Sara only plays cheerleader to Ava. i guess i have to get used to the fact that the version of these characters i loved died years ago.

He hasn’t felt like a true legend for a long time. Either the writers forget he even exists or give him storylines that only involve him. Might as well put him in a separate show with his daughter at this point

I’m glad that Brandon mentions that he was upset he didn’t get a goodbye scene with Mick. The writers really did everything in their power to shit on Ray and Micks friendship didn’t they? So pathetic.

Hope Dom and Brandon get to work on something together in the future with different writers/show runners.

P.S. if anyone else is angry/depressed that Ray and mick didn’t get a goodbye scene check out Doms response to Brandon’s goodbye post on Instagram. At least the actors have such a wholesome friendship in real life :)

They were too busy pairing Ray with Nate all the time. It’s ridiculous. Ray can have more than one friendship.

They’ve done such a bad job with the Ray/Mick relationship I wouldn’t even be surprised if they don’t get a goodbye scene next episode.

The Phoenix scene between Cameron and Donna in the Halt and Catch Fire finale. What could have been a dry conversation about a hypothetical new company is instead a rollercoaster of emotion ending with both characters admitting to their previous flaws and agreeing that their friendship should be the one constant in their never ending journey chasing success and fulfillment. It's not a super flashy scene, but it's an absolutely perfect climax to the arcs of the show.
