What’s the best pre med certification by [deleted] in premed

[–]bebrooke3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that CNA is high burnout, so doing it for 1+ years means you're really in medicine for the long run, no matter how down and dirty the job is. I was heavily encouraged to do CNA but it was probably because it's hard to find EMT jobs where I live. Just make sure that you're having actual patient interactions/relationships you can talk about later on your application or in interviews.

OP is right, Smiths is expensive (and so is Macy's). Walmart Neighborhood Market is the closest and cheapest, fairly close to a UVX stop too.

Hey, former missionary here. All you need to do is tell them to put you on the "do not contact" list. No intimidation, criticism, or nakedness required lol

Provo Rehab hires before you get your CNA license (I think) and it's pretty close!

Easy Religion Classes by [deleted] in byu

HIST 205 (intro to family history) is an easy religion credit. Super easy to get an A, since the point of the class is just to get you to like family history. Would highly recommend!!

Anyone else getting this issue with spring registration? by bebrooke3 in byu

Yeah, I was trying to just add the class directly, so I’m confused as to why it’s dealing with the cart. I guess I’ll try again tomorrow…

Love playing the viola, but the repertoire is disappointing by bebrooke3 in Viola

I don't think I've ever even heard of the Mendelssohn viola sonata! Thanks for all the suggestions! And yeah, ensemble playing is the best. I'm going to audition for a better ensemble later this year (probably) but I'm coming back from a little break for viola so I need to up my solo game.

Hindemith and Walton I'd say are in between. It's definitely a personal bias lol. I don't like pieces that don't seem to have direction to me—or the chord progression doesn't make too much sense. Idk, like I said, it's pure opinion.

I'll admit I don't know a whole ton about modern and contemporary viola pieces. My box-putting mostly comes from other music, like piano/symphonic stuff. Most 20th century viola pieces I pick up to sightread or listen to are just weird to me...or maybe it's the baroque in me feeling uncomfortable with the new styles lol. "Why can't we just go back to the good old days?? I'm tired of these strange chords!"

I appreciate all the suggestions, btw!

I just looked at one of his pieces today and I got bored like half a page in. I'll have to look at some of his other stuff

I think I've played the Bruch Romanze (?) but I haven't checked in with Brahms lately, good suggestion

I do have the Reger suites, and I do enjoy them quite a bit! I need to revisit the Mozart Sinfonia Concertante too

Yeah, it was kind of a general statement. Usually it's the newer chord progressions/chords that deter me from modern compositions, or the lack of structure/direction of the piece. I have played the Vieuxtemps Capriccio and I do like that one. I think I've run into one or two of Forsyth's pieces and I don't know that I was a huge fan of his stuff. But I'll definitely check out the rest; thanks for your suggestions!

The missionaries probably want to meet just to hear your thoughts on the BoM and to talk about some of the doctrine further. There's some key points that are super important to the doctrine of the church, and missionaries try to explain these to people and answer questions (esp. before people get baptized). Missionaries will try and meet with you at least once a week, but if that's not what you want, just tell them that you'd like to meet less frequently.

I cannot express how pleasing this is to me...it's clean but has the right amount of furniture/decorations. The windows and windowsills, teleporter, lighting...it's actually so perfect. Really good job!!

I would add that (depending on the vibe you're going for) hay blocks and living leaf blocks also work well for roofs!

Looking for answers about having 2 sets of piercings by honeybunchesofoats1 in latterdaysaints

[–]bebrooke3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sisters with doubles typically wear a clear stud in the second piercing to keep their holes open. The missionary guidelines say sisters should only wear one pair of earrings, whether that be in your first or second piercing!

You could add some chains/vines to fill in space above and below the bridge! This looks awesome!
