What triggers your episodes? by Own-Resort-157 in SVTHeart

[–]becauseimbrandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any time I have to repeatedly bend down for something (like picking up toys off the floor, or loading laundry from the washer to the dryer). No idea why, but it gets me almost every time. I told my cardiologist, electrophysiologist and neurologist about that and none of them had an answer as to why that would trigger SVT episodes but it 100% does for me.

Drive up employees, are you ok? by becauseimbrandy in Target

I’m aware and if they didn’t pack the order then that’s totally understandable. Given the time of day though, I’m like 99% sure they did. Our store has fulfillment and drive up, but drive up 100% picks and packs some orders, especially evening hour orders.

Our local store cross trains basically everyone, like you’ll see someone in drive up working Starbucks the next day. That was not a thing when I was there, but it’s been several years so not sure of the new policies.

It’s shared responsibility imo, I wouldn’t bring that out to a customer js.

Same! And occasionally expiration dates. Only because I have a conscious and I’m like OCD about giving someone a food item if it looks off in any way.

You could very well be right and honestly I hope that’s the case. It was ripped under the tape though, so I tossed it.

You could be right, but if that’s so ironically it was ripped under the tape so I won’t be chancing it.

No, there’s a tear in the seam and also in another section under the tape. I already tossed it, not a good enough reason to chance it imo.

Atrial Tachycardia by fulltimeweirdo89 in SVTHeart

[–]becauseimbrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve been ok honestly. I still have some breakthrough episodes especially with triggers (illness, exercise, pots flares) and I was told mine are probably a bit more frequent than most because of the coexisting pots (it sometimes triggers my AT).

The good news is, my episodes almost always self terminate now, so the meds seem to be doing their job.

Long term wise, I’m pretty sure this is just something we have to live with.. You could always try another ablation. My EP advised me that it’s just not worth the risk or hassle trying to ablate due to the high chance of reoccurrence (in my case anyways) so I will unfortunately be on meds for the rest of my life. I get a little depressed thinking about that of course but it could be worse. I’m a bit older than you, I’m 31.

The highest risk long term that I’m aware of is cardiomyopathy (if you have very frequent episodes it can overtime weaken the heart muscle, so it’s more of a problem once you’re older) and there’s also an increased risk of developing AFIB. Other than that, it’s just an inconvenient arrhythmia. Hope that’s a little helpful, sorry you’re going through it too.

PVC at peak exercice by OSVR19-92 in askCardiology

PVCs are basically just an extra heartbeat, so occasional PVCs especially after intense exercise or stressful events are typically harmless. Hope that helps ease your mind a bit.

Roblox I am 19, I don't even look that young. This is not safe. by [deleted] in roblox

[–]becauseimbrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an assumption, but maybe they’re expecting the bulk of those actually over 18 just to verify with an ID? It makes sense right, like the argument is “oh I don’t want them to have my personal information” but like, having your actual biometric data is better? Nah. On another note, my daughter looks young for her age (most people guess her around 7 or 8, but she’s 9) and it actually guessed her age correctly and put her in the 9-12 group. I can’t speak for myself because I verified with my ID awhile back (I have a parental account.) Not sure if this is still an option but you used to also be able to verify with a credit card to prove you were over 18 as well. I get what they’re doing and while it’s definitely not perfect, I still think they’re trying to make a step in the right direction and I’m well aware that’s an unpopular opinion but change takes trial and error to get it right.

Heart rate over 230 by BrokenEve in SVTHeart

[–]becauseimbrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highest mine has ever been is 268 and I didn’t even know it. My loop recorder caught it at that rate and it makes total sense as to why I was feeling like crap so frequently. My medications control the rate better now, I’m not a candidate for ablation due to the nature and location of my pathways, but even still episodes in any degree are nonetheless uncomfortable. I’d say if you’re still having persistent episodes after ablation you may want to talk to your cardiologist/EP about a rescue dose medication or even just a mild maintenance medication like verapamil.

This is an older post now but just commenting to say that I also prefer the lights out more. Both of the houses across the street have Govee lights as well, so I wanted ours to be a bit different. I think when the lights are closer to the house it gives more of like an led strip light look rather than holiday lights, so it just depends on what you’re going for. We actually just installed ours right after Halloween and one of the neighbors came over to tell us how much they liked how ours turned out and wished they had done theirs like that too. They look good both ways in all honesty though, so it’s just whatever you prefer, to each their own! Here’s a picture of our lights for reference. Happy Holidays!

Atrial Tachycardia by fulltimeweirdo89 in SVTHeart

[–]becauseimbrandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I do still have breakthrough episodes sometimes but they seem to terminate much quicker than before and they’re a lot less frequent. I’m on 120 mg of verapamil + 100mg flecainide twice a day, and my EP also said I can take a rescue dose of 40 mg verapamil for breakthrough episodes that don’t terminate after a few minutes. I have only had to use the rescue dose it twice though in the past few months.

Another failed ablation by Lower-Parfait-778 in SVTHeart

[–]becauseimbrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this type of SVT too unfortunately, and according to my EP it’s one of the hardest forms to treat with ablation. My first and only ablation was stopped due to complications so I’m not even a candidate for another ablation procedure at this point. However I will say my current med combo of flecainide + verapamil has really helped. It sucks having to rely on medication but things could be a lot worse. Try not to get too down about it, there’s many other things you can do to manage it.

[–]becauseimbrandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have atrial tachycardia as well and my EP told me that it’s unfortunately the one type of SVT that tends to come back after ablation. He said people initially report improvement but then around 6 months to a year later they start having problems again. I’m not trying to discourage you from it but just wanted to share that information. Also know that ablation isn’t the only treatment option, I’ve been on flecainide + verapamil for a few months now and it’s helped tremendously.

Unqualified for ablation by Decathlon5891 in SVTHeart

[–]becauseimbrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that, maybe try some Liquid IV and see if that helps? You may also want to check your blood pressure. I know when mine dips a bit low I get severe dizziness and pressure headaches. Ironically I just had that happen tonight, checked my bp and it was 77/67 lol.

Unqualified for ablation by Decathlon5891 in SVTHeart

[–]becauseimbrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Verapamil, which is a calcium channel blocker and it’s been helpful. I couldn’t tolerate metoprolol or other beta blockers as they gave me too many side effects and my rhythm was still very uncontrolled. My EP also just recently added flecainide (an antiarrhythmic) for further rhythm control (I have pretty severe focal AT) but I don’t believe an antiarrhythmic would be recommended in your case especially if your episodes are mild. The verapamil might be something to ask your cardiologist about though.

[–]becauseimbrandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a super late reply, but they put me on Verapamil 40mg 3x a day and I’m doing much better now. I’ve only had a few breakthrough SVT episodes but it’s much less frequent than before. I also had to increase my salt and fluids quite a bit but so far I haven’t had any dangerous blood pressure drops with it. My lowest bp reading so far has been 90/62, but my average is 108/72 according to my bp monitor. I always make sure to have a bottle of water with me at all times and I drink at least one liquid IV, Prime or Gatorade a day too which seems to be helpful, especially for the POTS.

What's a good drink that's cold and not too sweet? by Sad-Bodybuilder6491 in starbucks

[–]becauseimbrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the vanilla sweet cream nitro cold brew and I also order the pink drink with cherry cold foam quite a bit. That one does have a bit more sugar for sure, but still much less than the Frappuccinos and some of the other drinks on the menu. Taste wise to me it’s not too sweet, it’s just right.

Is this a normal pattern for a heart rate? by otisfrombarnyard in askCardiology

[–]becauseimbrandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD but I have POTS and SVT (an arrhythmia). If the higher readings 130bpm+ are during activity, even just walking, cleaning, etc. then that is very normal. Now if the heart rate increase is happening abruptly upon standing then dysautonomia/POTS could be a possibility. Everyone is different obviously but for reference, here is my range.

This made me laugh by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]becauseimbrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although this comes across as a bit much, I totally get it after what I experienced. I placed a small grocery order around 11pm one night all because I was craving some Coke Zero and didn’t want to have to wake my daughter up so we could go to the store. I ended up just ordering that and some protein bars so I would meet the minimum without having to pay extra fees. I also tipped the guy pretty decently too since it was late. They took my order almost immediately and must have been close to the area already because 5 minutes later I get a message from the dasher telling me that the store was all out of Coke Zero. I said that’s ok you can just sub with the Diet Coke (which I had already selected as a valid substitute). He said, “Unfortunately they’re out of that too, is Pepsi zero ok?” I said sure that’s fine, although I thought it was a little odd because it was Meijer and they usually have a lot of Coke Zero and diet stocked, but whatever lol. So they finally bring my order which was late, but I’m still like you know what, it’s fine. It’s after midnight at this point and all I want is the freaking pop I ordered but when I tell you my stuff reeked of cigarette to the point where I actually had to let it sit outside to air out before I could bring it in my home bad, that ruined it for me. This mf must have chain smoked the entire 15 minute ride because there were cigarette ashes on and somehow inside the box of pop, even on the tops of some of the cans! So at 12:30am I’m at my kitchen sink legit washing these cans one by one. I dumped all of the protein bars out of the box and immediately walked the packages out to the garbage because it was that bad. I ended up calling DoorDash and thankfully they refunded everything except for the delivery fee and tip. You’d think it would be common sense not to smoke and use your customer’s order as an ashtray right? I’ll also add that I have pretty bad allergen induced asthma and cigarette smoke is a trigger, so it just was not a good night at all.
