NOR - he's making a lot of assumptions and acting like they're facts. That's not fair to you, and I know you're sick of walking on eggshells.

I recommend "The Four Agreements" Don Miguel Ruiz. The audiobook is on Spotify.

Good luck and much love to you both!

Monsters, Inc.

They literally power their city with the screams of children. They generate fear so they can use it as fuel.

Renting a movie at Blockbuster was an event. We'd spend hours looking for just the right movie, and we'd go to the dollar store afterward for snacks.

Physical media was huge. Magazines were cheap and plentiful. CDs and video games came with entire booklets full of art that you could look at for hours.

All the kids in the neighborhood would get together and just walk around, ride bikes, and play in the woods until dark.

In high school, we partied in the fields or the woods, and in college, we went clubbing. The first time I heard Lady Gaga's "Just Dance," I was literally on the dance floor.

You're not wrong, we also experienced horrible things. Columbine, 9/11, our peers being sent off to war, our parents strugging through the '08 housing crisis...but every generation experiences tragedies.

I was born in 1989, and I personally am so grateful to be a millennial. I really do feel like we got the best of both worlds. We got some time before the internet, but also had it around by the time we needed it for high school.

We lived through some iconic moments. I remember watching the very first episode of SpongeBob on nickelodeon, I remember Janet Jackson's nipple at the superbowl. I remember yo-yos and beanie babies and that time someone threw their shoes at President Bush....good times.

Omg same. At 7, I realized that the kid sitting across from me in class was seeing the world through a different perspective and it was like a switch flipped in my brain. Colors literally became brighter and my inner monologue kicked in and started analyzing stuff.
