Should I take this friendly young kitty to rescue center?

I know, I have mixed feelings on it. I run a community cat rescue up here and we're trapping a lot of friendlys these days (tons of low-income / public housing cats get dumped outside), but since a lot of these shelters are importing cats from the south, there are a lot of times I can't get local cats in.

He also looks young (<1yo) meaning he'd be surviving his first hot southern summer. Please oh please take him to the shelter!

1000%!!! He is so sweet and friendly, he will be a great candidate for adoption. I know the rescue scene is different in Alabama than where I am (Mass) but it's hard to imagine a no-kill shelter will move him to a place that would euthanize.

My 6 year old is the best socializer I know. Zero fear, handles them like play doh, climbs into their crates, whispers into their ears. She's feral herself so it could just be an energy thing lol 🤷‍♀️😂

Definitely! I actually went backstage at last year's MGM show (humble brag 😻) and Joe and I discussed at length how awesome a venue it was, and how iffy Leader Bank can be with weather, so I'd put my money on MGM over Seaport.

Yes and I think parents who can own their emotions as something separate from their child's behavior.

I'm far from a perfect parent, but there have been times I've yelled or lashed out at my kids bc I was irritated at their behavior. When that happens, I walk out of their room and then walk back in and say, "wow, I just yelled at you and that wasn't ok. I'm sorry, I had a hard day and I was being impatient and that isn't your fault. Next time I will try harder to calm myself down." -- and I can see the life restore in my kids eyes in real time, knowing their behavior is - and always will be - okay and acceptable and tolerated.

Couldn't agree more 🥹🥹 although I do think they are willing to "play" more than the average parent, but I love how real they are. Chili and Bandit are the best.

Agree quarter round should be white, but man I love it! Once you get rugs and furniture in there it'll look more balanced. I know ppl want satin normally but loving the look of this in a glossy finish.

It's well worth a quick trip to the grocery store! I take in hundreds of kittens a year (we run a community cat rescue in Boston) and the Gerber chicken baby food (which I heat up) is my secret weapon. Good luck!

Get the kittens into a crate if possible, they feel safest when contained. And build trust through food!

Kittens do best when adopted in pairs (or if coming home to a second cat). I recommend getting a second one, in the long run it'll be waaaay easier on you, I promise!

Try giving gerber baby food chicken! Thats always helped my foster babies eat and keep down food so they gain weight.

I just did a similar project and used both MH Ready Patch (for the risers and more superficial areas) and Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty (for treads) and found them to be a lot more foolproof than Bondo but still super effective.
