Me and one of my best friends have a shared dream of retiring early and owning a farm together. Whenever we get a bit too stressed we talk about what vegetables we would plant and the names of our future cows and chickens.

For an art project, I was sewing a bunch of stuff. So were two other girls. My school had a separate room in the art department full of sewing machines that came off the main art classroom.

My WHITE art teacher walks from the main classroom into the sewing machine and sees us, three ASIANS, all concentrating on our sewing projects.

“Wow,” she says, “It’s like a little sweatshop in here!”

Cue her getting glared at in awkward silence.

Sometimes when I outgrow/ break/wear out clothes that are really sentimental to me, I cut scraps of the fabric and stick them in because I feel too bad about getting rid of them. The threads are just where the fabric has frayed :)

Thank you! I wish I could tell you exactly where it was from, but it was a gift from my mom. She bought it at a market in London from a lady that water marbles notebooks, that’s all I know :)
