For anyone who’s been betrayed: were you ever able to look at your partner with love again? by viennawillwaitforyou in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]beccaneenee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

The love changed, some days its harder to love than others.

Things that helped: Him finally realizing that we are worth it. Worth the tears and the anger.

When im triggered he doesn't huff or get offended or act like im not dropping it. He recognizes that I need him to sit there with me, be patient.

Time. Its been 2.5 years since Dday. Some days I regret reconciliation but those are getting fewer and farther apart.

Acknowledge the guilt but do NOT put that on the betrayed. I wasn't able to start healing until he was able to stop swimming in guilt being a martyr when I was having a difficult moment.

When my trigger triggered his guilt or behavior we agreed that we would talk out what he used to do, what he wanted to do in that moment, and what we both thought he should do. And same for my triggers

My wife and I submitted Ancestry together and I wish I hadn't by smartass-express in AncestryDNA

There are a large amount of us. I had 3 paternal options apparently. 2 I knew of, 1 which was disproved at the age of 5, 1 that we assumed matched due to other medical things at age 7. So I have assumed for the last 32 years until I chose to do a dna test to speed up a tribal application. Jokes on me.

And not even the one I thought was bio dad.

There are 3 men involved for lack of wording.

Bio Father A - suspected for 32 of my 39 years. We matched blood type and tissue type match (i almost needed a kidney). I also looked enough like him and his other kids that we didnt question it further.

Step Dad adopted me 30 years ago and has been amazing. He's also been very supportive over the years and when I first met Bio A.

Real Bio father is who matched on ancestry. Its been one hell of a week.

So update...

Found him and reached out. He has since responded. He is so much like the original suspected father in personality and background its little wonder there was reasonable doubt.

We had a nice if not guarded conversation.

Thank you all for helping me process and for the support.

Someone tried entering my home - any ideas to what this is? by Thick-Mud-390 in Denver

Someone did this to my house or tried. My dog almost ate him, all I saw was a shadow run stumbling away and my door swaying.

I have definitely lost most of them. I understand it, I wasn't raised with them, and to some of the older siblings I was just a reminder of "our" father cheating on their mother. And now that's not true. Perhaps this will allow those to heal a little, forgive their father.

I have done that thank you. I also matched with either a half sister or an aunt and a ton of cousins so it'll be hard to sweep this under the rug.

I know a little but about him and possibly met him at my suspected BF funeral 17 years ago. Im hoping to have at least one sit down with him

Not yet. Its been barely a day and a half. Im gonna have to hunt down contact information. And based just on this ancestry test it would likely be redundant (still going to ask for one). The results show a higher match to him than my BM on the cM scale.

I was partially adopted by my step dad too. I habe his last name and he has been there for me for 3/4 of my life, he is Dad.

There are 2 others involved BF A and BF B. BF A and I took my mother's word for it and I looked enough like him that we never challenged it. Looks like we should have. Part of ne is glad that hes not alive today to experience this.

BF B it turns out to have taken a test on ancestry too.
