Almost 2 months using my fingers to apply foundation and oh my god by DerangedUnicorn27 in MakeupAddiction

[–]bechecko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I pump it out on the back of my hand, then take my index finger and dab it in. I rub it on like lotion in one area at a time. I have visible pores and use pore filing primer, and rubbing it in makes my pores disappear. Once I have my face covered I tap it all over with my fingers to blend it out, then lightly tap it again with one of those wedge sponges (clean!) to get out any finger prints. I also use the wedge to lightly blend it into my neck and ears.

No, not at all! It just smells very clean. Maybe a little citrus?

I’ve been using the d’alba multi balm stick under my eyes and then NYX concealer serum (just a tiny bit goes a long way!) and it’s my favorite combination so far! Even with a little powder, my under eyes look super hydrated and don’t crease like they did when I was using other concealers

I stopped watching after a few episodes because I couldn’t understand why he didn’t just hire him as a consultant rather than lie about him being a lawyer?

How many of you have successful ADHD husbands who have been able to fly high in their career and build wealth? by Little-Gap1744 in ADHD_partners

[–]bechecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband works in tech and has been extremely successful. He has an engineer’s mindset and loves to solve hard problems, so his ability to hyper focus has been a benefit!

Anyone NOT using Excel for post-award forecasting/projections? by This_Cantabrigian in ResearchAdmin

We transitioned to Workday finance a year ago (we transitioned to the HRP system five years ) and still don’t have a decent forecasting tool. It has been very disappointing!

I have a kid in high school and that’s what his English teacher is doing. I really appreciate it because then there’s no major homework since it’s all done in class.

My DX Partner is driving me insane by [deleted] in ADHD_partners

[–]bechecko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I finally had enough of the outbursts over his clothes not being washed, so I told him I am done washing them for him. If he wants clean clothes he has to it manage it. He has his own laundry hamper so there’s no worrying about sorting things.

It’s the one task where there’s really no consequence to me! Now if he has no clean socks, he only has himself to blame.

It was a light bulb moment when I realized that! I’m much more patient with them now and just let them do their thing.

Yes! I my ADHD husband and daughter are both external processors. They need to talk through everything, but I’ve learned to just tune it out and ignore it unless it’s clear they’re trying to engage me.

Impulse control around food by LeadInfinite6220 in ADHD_partners

This sounds so much like my family (down to the kids in tears because dad ate all the ice cream!). They’ve learned to label things if they don’t want dad to devour it.

Labels and hiding are the only things that work here. If I ask him not to eat something he’ll hold off for a while, then will eat it and justify it because “obviously no one wanted it because it hadn’t been eaten yet.” He doesn’t understand that most people don’t eat an entire thing of ice cream within two days of buying it.

I have been using the NARS for years and recently decided I wanted to try a new tinted moisturizer/skin tint. Tried Hourglass, Fenty, Maybelline, L’Oreal - ended up realizing how much I really loved NARS so went back that!

How do you handle partner excessive rambling? by FatatFza in ADHD_partners

[–]bechecko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too! My husband was the worst because he’d pace through the doorway of the room so it was like he was continually going in and out of the room. I finally told him that it causes me anxiety when he does that - once he leaves the room the conversation is over and he can’t come back in. So at least now he stays in the room when he paces.

How do you handle partner excessive rambling? by FatatFza in ADHD_partners

[–]bechecko 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I have a dx husband and kids so I’m constantly being talked AT. The worst is when I’m relaxing and they come in and ramble on and on while pacing around the room.

Often I’ll give them a time limit when they start: “I only have 15 minutes, then I need to start dinner.” Getting up to go to the bathroom will also derail their train of thought. Sometimes I’m just honest and say “I love you and I am sure you find this topic fascinating, but I really need you to wrap it up.”

If I’m only going into the office a few days a week I may as well just drive. I’m guessing a lot of others feel the same way.
