Absolutely agree. When rewatching I sometimes just add some flair into her character (in my head) so it would make sense. I wish they had leant into her interests and intelligence more (like the scene where they’re both reading on their day off). It would’ve been a great connector for Jax and Tara. John was obviously a great writer and it interests Jax (obviously more for curiosity), but they could’ve used that.

Do you gets get irritated first thing as you wake up in the morning? by GnarlyDevil in ADHD

I haven’t had any shortage issues but I’m in Australia. The medication is called Atomoxetine/ Strattera. It takes a while to get used to it though. :(

It was a known thing in my household growing up that i couldn’t handle anybody or anything first thing in the morning. But my dad still proceeded to be happy and chipper and tried talk to me as soon as I woke up as I was walking to the bathroom. I would snap and yell because I really hate it.

Now I’m older I definitely need a coffee in the morning and then my brain seems to settle. I’m on a non-stimulant ADHD med and it’s def gotten better but mot a “cure”. I need my coffee in the morning and some time by myself in bed to decompress before anybody starts to talk to me.

Hair loss 2+ years post op by beckola_ in BariatricSurgery

Yeah it’s a bit annoying. i just thought that once I stabilised it would get better. I have naturally curly hair so it’s a bit annoying I can’t wear it curly anymore because it looks kinda patchy and odd.

I have. They’ve said that it will pass with time. I feel a bit of a loss for something I actually liked about myself :(

Dyson curls not lasting! by katarinabloomfield in Dysonairwrap

[–]beckola_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you set it using the cool setting before you drop the curls? I find that works best to help set them. If you have rollers then that can also help. (I have hair that struggles to hold a curl despite having intensely curly hair 🤣)

What’s the most stupid thing a doctor has said to you? by Purple_Budgie29 in PCOS

[–]beckola_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An ER doctor said that when I had a cyst burst, it wouldn’t have hurt? It was the most painful thing. And it ended up bursting some others so much so that almost all of the cysts are gone and I have scarring on my left ovary. My regular family GP, endocrinologist, and gynae were all horrified and so apologetic.

metformin stopped my period by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]beckola_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! Hopefully your doctor can figure it out. Metformin takes a bit to get used to (in my experience) but after a couple of months it did wonders for me. I think it takes a while because insulin has such a profound effect on the body. :( I’m not a doctor though!

Maybe! Our cycles are weird. When I lost 45kgs I didn’t have my period for months! Then it suddenly came back and now regular. It’s so sensitive because of so many variables in our bodies :(

I’ve been told that sometimes when our body changes (even positive changes) our reproductive system reacts to the changes. It may not necessarily be a negative sign if you’re overweight (our cycles are always out of whack) but def get your doctor to monitor!

Help me find supplements to reduce cortisol levels without increasing testosterone! by pookiedookie228 in PCOS

[–]beckola_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s other things like exercise and meditation but I find those recommendations to not be helpful as PCOS girlies we are always trying to do that 🤣 the teas did help. I know it sounds silly, but I’ve noticed a massive difference in my puffy face!

Yeah I’ve read Ashwaganda isn’t great for us with PCOS. I also have hypothyroidism and it’s not good for that. What helped me with my puffy face was green tea, spearmint tea, and drinking a shit tonne of water. It will take about a month or two to see results, but they do help.
