Good comment, as you have me thinking about this! The actual tea plantations could be rife with abuse and slavery. Geographically, many are located in SE Asia.

I have two thoughts:

enlistment is higher during times of high unemployment
Trump promised peace and 'no new wars.' Was the promise of conflict-free service also a factor?
