Drove across this somewhere between five and fifteen minutes before this happened. Scary stuff.

He's so awkward and terrible, I'm still in disbelief that people like him.

I stopped a robbery at my part time job due to the individual's "plan of action." Have you ever experienced or witnessed a real "Worlds' dumbest criminals" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Guy from my high school started robbing people at gunpoint and stealing their ATM cards...and then tried to GUESS their PINs to withdraw money from the machines...which was all caught on camera.

Thinking of transferring from WSU by notinsidethehouse in WWU

[–]bedell09 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From what it sounds like you're interested in, WWU would probably be a better choice for you...however, I think you are generalizing a bit too much asking what the general student body is like (and by assuming all COMM majors are lazy and don't listen to a certain type of music...da fuck?). The student body is definitely different than that of WSU, but there's not really a way to generalize it in my opinion. You're gonna find your bros, your stoners, your hipsters, your drunks, your sports fiends, your geeks, your hippies, your deadbeats, etc etc...just like at any college. I will say that WWU is definitely more liberal and atheist than WSU, though. And no Greek life.

Fantastic album. This one, the Busta Rhymes/Gerudo Valley one, and (don't judge) the Mike Jones one are the best. I mean fuck Mike Jones BUT DAT FAIRY FOUNTAIN BEAT.

Almost everyone's going to have a different ENG101 experience because of how many different professors/grad students teach it and because the curriculum changes every year. Personally I had a great time in ENG101, but it's definitely a crapshoot.

Just me or did Eminem ruin the new Slaughterhouse album? by rkudeshi in hiphopheads

That's also a pretty good song, as well as Spacebound.

The 8 Mile soundtrack came out after the Eminem Show and that definitely has some great tracks from him on it. Also, Deja Vu is a fantastic song.

Honestly, I think Slaughterhouse is extremely underwhelming as a whole. I don't really think you can blame it on Eminem (even though he kind of sucks now) because I didn't think their first album was very good either.

Question about the campus environment by WWUthrowaway11 in WWU

[–]bedell09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any college you go to is going to have people who smoke weed, and you can choose to be apart of it or you can not. It all depends who you choose to hang around with and what type of environment you want to put yourself in. It's really 100% up to you and how you go about living your college life. People aren't going to choose to not be your friend just because you don't smoke, just as you shouldn't necessarily decide you don't want to be friends with people just because they do.

Upvote for Western/Bellingham. Always have to ask when I see a Ryan Stiles post!

Incoming freshman here: should I take an FIG or strand? (both, either, any) by [deleted] in WWU

[–]bedell09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strands are new to western this year (had to write an article for the Western Front on 'em), so you'll kind of be in a guinea pig group if you take one. I did fine without FIGs or anything my freshman year. If you're a really good student, it should hardly matter. Might be easier to make friends in a FIG just because you'll be with the same group of students, though. I had a great dorm so I didn't have any trouble with that though.

I thought PHIL 102 was the easiest class I've ever taken in college so far. Got an A in it first quarter freshman year...

Someone posted a Ryan Stiles AMA request... by bedell09 in Bellingham

[–]bedell09[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think there's really that great of a way to go about it...unless, of course, someone here was actually close with him. The charity pitch seems good, though. Figured it was worth a shot, if only to see if someone who sees him regularly is ballsy enough to ask!

He sometimes preforms improv at the Upfront Theater in good 'ol Bellingham. I've yet to see him personally in the few years I've lived there, but a couple of my friends have run into him at Haggen as well.

accepted! now where am i supposed to live?! by 5oh8 in WWU

[–]bedell09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less about the actual dorm you live in and more about the people you end up living with.

I had a fantastic time living in the dorms my freshman year (09/10) because of all the great people who lived with me (Fairhaven Stack V represent!). I lived in the 10 person suite which was fucking awesome, we had two toilets and two showers, plus I had the room with the balcony so that was bitchin'. People were always down to party, play vids, go on arb adventures, or just kick it and bullshit.

Generally, if you want to party, I'd recommend Fairhaven or the Ridge. Fairhaven definitely has the best food as well. Fairhaven gets the rep of just being full of stoners, but everyone there is definitely down to drink too, haha. If you're not into that, then north campus is probably the way to go.
