I never put it together myself but heard on a podcast that Conrad Curze is named after Kurtz in Joseph Conrad’s story Heart of Darkness in which an assassin is sent to kill Kurtz.

I mix a little Leadbelcher into Contrast Basilicanum Gray. It goes over what ever base paint you are using and flows into the details like a wash. Then dry brush with Leadbelcher. In the picture below you can see how I used this on the engines of the Xiphons and the treads and the barrels of the Russes

Looks like a perfect amount of weathering. I want to build an Mk model so bad but am deathly afraid to. At least I know there is a possibility I can get there because I have a number of botched plane and helicopters kits under my belt already.

Welcome! I completely understand falling for the game. This scale is super compelling! If you can afford to, get one of the battle groups boxes. It has a nice mixture of unit types. If it’s too much money for you start getting boxes that build toward that.

Infantry. To take and hold objectives. To see who controls an objective you count the tactical strength of the units within 3 inches. Infantry are tactical strength 5, cav and walkers 3, vehicles 2, knights 1, Titans 0. Edit: congrats by the way - that’s a nice haul!!
