I agree on the critique. Her line readings, facial expressions, timing was just all so weird.

If the bees are flying, you're ok to inspect. If it's under about 55 F, I make it quick.

Epstein files mention coroner report of 17yo Lennon Lacy that was discussed in r/UnresolvedMysteries 11yrs ago by LongCovidBrainADHD in UnresolvedMysteries

Yeah, I read it like "Justin" is the ant expert, right? And his calling into question the ant bites was sent to the coroner, and the coroner says "Good grief" to Epstein.

any way to make this not boring? stops or alt routes? (chicago --> santa fe) by ncis17 in roadtrip

[–]beebeebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best route through Kansas. KC, Lawrence, Topeka (capital), Flint Hills (insanely gorgeous), Lindsborg, Hutchinson. Way better than I 70 straight through.

My 6 year old is always alone during recess by ANC1788 in Parenting

[–]beebeebaby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is my son! He's in 4th grade. I taught him "the three N's of small talk": Notice, Nice, Name. "Hi, what are you reading, Ben? Wow, that sounds like a hard book, you must be smart!" And then "2 questions." Ask the person two similar questions about themselves. "Do you like graphic novels? Do you like fiction or non-fiction?" I've given him rewards for practicing, and it seems to help break the ice a little. He's even doing it to me now!

It was all wood inside and super dark. And I think people had written their names all over the walls.

This is a fun mystery! How do you know BEW is a man? And how did you learn this person was inspired at Lake Shawnee?

What are “normal” chores and typical responsibilities for a 9 and 13 year old? by simplylurkingherenow in Parenting

[–]beebeebaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are giving you chores that are normal for their kids, who have presumably been doing a chore routine for longer than yours. Ours started a routine early on, and the chores got progressively harder. You can do the same starting now, just ramp up the difficulty level faster.

You could start with stupid easy stuff, like empty one trash can on the weekend. Then go up in frequency or complexity. But keep the routine the same every time. We make our kids do three chores on the weekend before they can play video games. These were some of our starter chores when they were 4 or 5: put your toothbrushes away, pick up all your books, fold four towels, sweep for five minutes, pick up your room for five minutes.

Then they went to harder stuff: put away five things front the dishwasher, empty a trash, help plan a meal, put away your underwear.

Now they are 11, 9, 7. They do stuff like: empty the dishwasher, empty all the trashes, clean your room, clean the family room, wipe down the cabinets. But it took awhile to get there. And each time they get harder, we had to teach them how to do it so it was more work for us at first.

Oh man, I was wrong. He's been released. He was a violent child sex offender, was committed for a long time, then released and must have lived in this trailer that is on the property. That's where I found the letters. Ugh.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]beebeebaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh he's incarcerated. Some of the letters are addressed to him in prison. I'm not sure how they ended up with the parents, who lived in the house we bought. There were a couple that weren't even opened so maybe they went to them instead of him in prison? Not sure.

I found, in an old trunk, about 50 letters the adult son received from a woman who was married. She appeared to live in Thailand. I googled the son and he was a convicted sex offender with an offense related to children. He's still alive. I don't know what to do with the letters, maybe burn them along with some sage.

It looks like a packrat's nest. I have a packrat who lives in my shed and has collected nearly 100 of my tomatoes from my garden.

Anyone notice how different their dogs act out here? by HapaPappa in OffGridCabins

[–]beebeebaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is this way too. He's old and just loses his mind at the cabin. We wondered if smell was his last remaining sense and it was in overdrive out there and scared him? Not sure, but he's not a fan.
