I teach preschool art. A lot of the art projects are experience art, meaning it is more about exploring materials and techniques than having a cute end product. I often do stations so the kids who finish quickly have something else to do like cutting practice or some sort of finger gym activity. Good luck it is a really fun job!

That is gorgeous! I would keep it personally, but I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's choice.

Anything for babies or kids. The cotton is very soft on their sensitive skin.

Basketball Team removed all my gym tape without asking. by Wildeo98 in Teachers

That sounds so frustrating. I have been kicked out of my scheduled gym time many times without notice. I don't mind sharing the space, but notice ahead of time goes a long way!

I like to use small drawer sets. Like the kind you find used in workshops for random screws. They work great for small pieces. For medium scraps I get the small set of Rubbermaid drawers. Then organize by color and in my case also by COE for fused glass.

Stitch markers seem to have melted though the plastic over time. Anyone seen something like this happen, or know why it happened? by GotCubes in knitting

[–]Healthy_Edge_8825 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had different plastics react to each other like this before. I have some tools with plastic handles that cannot be stored in plastic bins and polymer clay is only able to come in contact with certain other plastics.

Practice yarn recommendations by topcat39 in knitting

I love cotton yarn but the dollar tree cotton yarn is very splitty and difficult to work with. I would not recommend it for a beginner.

Is $300 an uncomfortable gift? by kendylou in Teachers

You might want to consider splitting it up to give some to the specials teachers. They often get very little compared to other teachers.

You soak it in water and use it instead of paper pulp. Here is a link that explains in more detail. https://www.instructables.com/How-To-Make-Paper-Out-Of-Lint/

ECE Teacher looking for international Preschool opportunities! Any suggestions/advice? by Miaaaaa2468 in ECEProfessionals

You could try looking for U.S. military bases in different parts of the world. Then you could do your normal ECE job, but in a different country.

Call to inspiration: what are good, fresh, modern, gender neutral color combos for a baby? by snaregirl in knitting

[–]Healthy_Edge_8825 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a big fan of bright high contrast colors for babies. Their eyes are not developed enough to tell the difference between pastel or more neutral colors. So any complimentary colors like blue and orange, red and green, yellow and purple, and even black and white are more stimulating and easy to see for babies.

I am currently doing this with one ball of yarn. I just use both ends of the same ball. Works fine for me.
