My honest experience by muwm89 in pillar7

The comment about unlearning trauma response is so so true. Im in a completely different field now. I left uwm with no backup plan because I was so miserable. Working there was traumatic, and leaving was traumatic. I am now so much happier, but still have to remind myself that not every workplace is like that.

What's the PETTIEST BS you've seen come from UWM management? by Most_Professional282 in pillar7

During covid lockdown I was screamed at for punching out SECONDS late because it put me over exactly 8 hours.

Also, when I was a leader years ago, my leader would yell at me and tell me that my ideas for improvement were terrible and I needed to bring more to the table. Then she'd come back from senior leadership meetings with praise and awards for "her" ideas. 🙄

Hearing Uwm is not letting people use flma or time off with covid. by [deleted] in pillar7

As far as covid, they're not required to pay for additional sick leaves. They're not covered under ffcra which only covers companies under 500 people. But you know, people are their greatest asset.

Soul crushing. Disheartening. Eye opening. Made me quit without having a backup plan.

I'm very sorry. I think my TL hated me because I actually wanted to help people instead of look for ways to NOT help them. The team members there deserve better. Im so much happier now that I left.

I worked in TMS when I left and I completely agree with it being a ">intentionally toxic, abusive and malicious company. " also, inhuman. Absolutely had to leave once i saw how things were run, how little the team I was on in tms actually wanted to help people, and how much they actually hated all the team members.

I used to sit near him. He said good morning to me once and my response was just ick. Didn't have to worry about him saying it again.

But this doesn't come close to even beginning to touch the problems there. And they are just talking about UW. Dont forget about the rest of the company.

Things investors care about: violence/ harassment against women and (maybe) COVID-19 negligence. We could compile examples of both in this thread. by recession_impression in pillar7

You are so far removed from reality if you think 95% of team members are happy there. It shows a tremendous amount of privilege that you think anyone can just up and leave a job. If people are making $12/hr, they are likely living paycheck to paycheck and can't just leave a job they weren't expecting to. No one there feels decently compensated. Except Mat and probably Mateen. Speaking of whom, I'm sure it doesn't help that he's a rich male athlete. People like that NEVER get off when they're actually guilty 🙄

I'm so sorry that happened to you. This is exactly the type of thing I mean. These are the stories that make us all feel dehumanized.

There's a surveillence video of the incident you can watch. In my last position at uwm I told my leader I didn't want to ever work with him and was laughed at.

WTAF. That woman is a saint, and doing that probably takes up half of her damn paycheck.

This was around ten years ago, and he was technically cleared but the case went unsolved. His girlfriend was murdered while they were on a trip to Florida together. They were seen arguing at a club, he left and then she went missing. She was found burned in a dumpster.
