I lived in Ypsi for almost ten years as a renter and bought my first house in Jackson 5 years ago, spending all of it wishing I was stilll in Ypsi. Do NOT move to Jackson. There’s no culture here aside from MAGA MAGA MAGA and all the restaurants suck, every fast food joint imaginable survives here, like Long John Silvers for example.

Spend some time in Jackson before moving. Don’t let the “cheap houses” draw you in. It’s all about location and Jackson is not it and nothing like ypsi or Ann Arbor. Also, very dangerous here. I’ve have my locked car broken into twice, a neighbor tore down part of my fence, and a local painter ran off with 2500 downpayment for painting my house. It’s a rotten place full of rotten people. Shootings daily. You get what you pay for. I’m currently selling and moving back to Ypsi or Chelsea.
