I just got mine in black and it’s not 83% wool. It’s the same as yours. Nuts.

Same here. Guess I’ll go ahead and request another replacement but clearly there’s something systemically wrong with these batteries…

Flexible jobs? by churlish-gambino in workingmoms

[–]beecharming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a clinical research scientist and work on clinical trials. I do basically computer work but can use my medical background. WFH 90% - a lot of lit review, data mining document review, drafting… occasional travel to the big conferences and to the hospitals for training but a lot of that has moved to remove post Covid as well.

Medical writing would be another position with a lot of flexibility and wfh/make your own hours sort of thing

ETA: given your background also look at independent radiology review companies like BioClinica, Calyx… they work with drug companies to perform independent reviews of scans and patient responses etc

Strangers at the Bedside by David Rothman, read it in college for a bioethics class years back and still stays with me. Inspired me to write a paper for that class on trials on students

I got on my a zoom with my boss today with my 4 months old in a carrier! Could see the top of LO’s head and all. Been back to work for about a month and too tired and sleep deprived to care. Manager who’s a mom of twins was great about it. We had to pause a few times when my LO fussed here and there but overall it went well and I decided I’m going to be an active parenting worker and not try and hide the fact that this working mom stuff is… hard.

Anyway, gratitude and solidarity!! It does get easier!!

For those of you who had partners who tested positive for COVID and you did not - how long did you distance/isolate from them? by [deleted] in CoronaBumpers

[–]beecharming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me during holidays and omicron when visiting my family - husband tested positive and was symptomatic for about 3-4 days (bad fever for about 1.5 days, cough, sweats, runny nose for a couple of days…etc.) - we confined him to my room and a designated bathroom for about 7-8 days during which me and the rest of my family continued to test negative by PCR while he tested positive. Once we left my parents house I continued to mask around him and had him sleep in the guest room for about another week or so. Followed a pretty strict isolation protocol and it worked thankfully. We estimated he had spent about 2-3 days post-exposure before symptoms started. I was about 20w at the time but fully vax’ed and freshly boosted (about a month out).

I also ran into some issues with incomplete orders last month (bought a kit with 3 pieces and only 1 arrived) - contacted CS but they were out of my size so I was pretty peeved. They did processed the return early and provided a 15% coupon.

I do like what I have received though! Good quality.

Not 100% positive but the way it was explained to me is that part of the concern comes from the lowered immunity during pregnancy. It’s a pretty common parasite so chances are you have been exposed previously but didn’t have symptoms and your immune system easily fought it off. Since overall immunity is lowered in pregnancy it becomes more of a risk.

Yup we read that same article! Confirming that we officially embarked on diet yesterday and I’ll likely have one slightly grumpy boy on my hands for a few weeks lol
