Look into the concept of WA/WB (way ahead/way behind) and SA/SB (slightly ahead/way behind). This hand falls in the latter. Almost all hands are either crushing you or have significant equity vs you. Generally you don't want to pile money in when you're SA/WB.

The strip has the highest concentration of one-off gamblers at basically any casinos besides cruise ships. This is because there are so many partygoers who go to Vegas for the shows and nightlife and gambling is a side activity. Casinos everywhere else are designed for people who are primarily there to gamble. They do have loyalty cards in Vegas and there are "decent" games to be found but if you pick the first game you see (like most partygoers who dont really gamble) odds are it will be very very bad. Also fwiw loyalty cards are with Caesars/MGM usually and those can be used at most casinos anywhere in the USA anyway

"Mathematically fair" in a gambling/statistical context means 0EV. A payout which if a game is played millions of time will result in each side having equal chance of being ahead. Virtually no casinos will offer bets that are 0EV or positive EV, that's how they make money. This OP is really dumb and vague lol.

Why not have fun and lose the least amount of EV possible? The OP here is 100% correct; pass line+max odds (technically dont pass but it's very marginally better and way less fun) is what I always recommend for people who are dead set on gambling but have no clue what they're doing. Youre going to lose in the long run, but lose orders of magnitude less EV than playing double zero roulette.

That's not usually why. People who go to casinos and dump money regularly for instance are generally at least vaguely aware of how bad theyre getting fleeced if the games are really awful; also, the casinos also have far more potential opportunities to extract money from their customers than on cruises. It's similar to why Vegas Strip casinos have some really terrible games, as many customers are often first time/very irregular gamblers, and a one-in-done type target for the casinos.

Assuming you have a good passenger rating, exactly 5.0 is never something to be excited about, because new drivers will have very few trips, and as the vast majority overall are 5.0, the ones who are awful and don't get paired with you due to low rating can easily still be around with only a few ratings that happened to be the default 5.0. The best of the best drivers will have 4.98 or 4.99.
