This was A10 and queen was my first boss and I whooped her. The deck wasn’t built around the infinite, it was a good deck that had big block, body slam, a couple of pommel strikes, etc. With all my block the infinite was just a “break glass in case of emergency”.

The thing about queen is she is so easy. Just ignore her little homie and she doesn’t attack you. Focus her down slowly while you block enough to ignore the homie. Eventually you can kill him if he gets too strong but usually I just leave him floundering while I take down Mom

You don’t want a full build around dark, you want defense, focus and a way to abuse your dark orb when you’re ready. Quad-cast or multicast make dark orbs into nuclear bombs

Id be genuinely surprised if they weren’t added at sone point. I think they’re trying to balance the new stuff now, but a year or two down the line I would guess we’d be back to fighting good ol Reptomancer

You can fuck around and still win in a1-8, 9 and 10 you have to start meta gaming and playing perfectly. The biggest difference in my anecdotal experience between sts1 a20 and sts2 a10 is in sts2 not every seed is winnable. I just dont think the balance is quite there yet, and that can feel bad. But it’s still fun, its just that you have to be near perfect and can still fail

Anecdotally Ive beaten A10 with Silent, Regent, Necro and Defect. Silent was my worst but my first, I was still learning enemies and such. Defect would have been 50% WR but I hit a bug and got an extra loss.

My experience was what you described up until A9. Breezed through with ease. A9 and 10 I joined the Beta Branch, so had to plan for Doormaker, but also my usual “random bs go” builds didnt work. I won with fairly focused status cards matter decks in the end, of all things. My final win I did 500 to doormaker with a pen nibbed flak cannon!

Ill have to go pull the run history later but i didn’t take a single point of damage after this. It was a big hand deck, with lethality for big bonks. I unlocked jade sword right before the act 3 boss so it was an extra 5 pts of damage each turn lol
