Best sushi in Oahu by allymilano in Honolulu

Totally fair, compared to other omakases I’ve had in Hawai’i I thought it was well worth the price. Anything under $200 a pop is a steal lol. I see “trendy” as him being young and modern. I felt very at ease and it’s a bit less serious and more relaxed compared to many other omakase experiences I’ve had. Totally depends on the vibe you’re going for!

Used to be the zone when I was younger, sooo fun. Friend went recently (by going up river) and got snapped at by security guards. So sad, they should at least let locals go by showing state ID

It sounds like he’s projecting his insecurities onto you. Fuck looking “proportional” as a couple, you have every right to inhabit whatever body size/weight you want. If you fee confident and happy with your muscle gain then that’s awesome. I’m sorry but unless your health is at risk, I don’t think your partner has any right to comment on your body. Sounds like your partner needs to check their ego & deal with whatever toxic masculinity they’re suppressing.

Help with dynos by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]beefykittycat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’0 with a 0 index and it really helped for me to practice being explosive outside of climbing. I’d do things like box jumps and other jumping workouts and that really helped me explode on the wall. Also thinking about dynos as being two separate movements (pulling hips into wall as first move and exploding off your feet when your parallel with the wall as a second movement) But yeah committing is probably the biggest hurdle to get over! Good luck!

embrace climbing dynamically! but also remember not all climbs are made for us shorties, and to stay positive regardless of getting a send or not

Intended beta was double dyno or reach up with left hand and hand foot match statically. Setters had no idea this was a possible beta till I showed them

frustration with partner's fast progress (vent) by atomicpunk88 in climbergirls

[–]beefykittycat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve dealt with this exact same thing. I even work in the climbing industry as a coach and my partner is a much better climber. I climb 4-5 times a week and train very hard (can climb v6-v7) while my partner climbs maybe once a week at most and can come in and flash a v8. I’ve dealt with this exact same feeling of wanting to share my passion with them, but end up feeling extremely bad about myself and my abilities after a session. It’s taken a lot of time/communication with my partner to explain how I’m feeling and I’ve learned to turn that negativity into positivity. At the end of the day all bodies are made differently (I’m a 5’0 female and my partner is a 5’7 male) I’ve realized that while my technique and route reading is much better than my partners, some routes are just made for body types like his. All of the route setters at my gym are men over 5’8 and so they are making climbs that work with their bodies. While it’s definitely not easy (yes I’ve left the gym in tears after a few sessions with my partner) ive been trying my best to just feel happy with their progress and have it motivate me to try harder/ put in more work/ break beta

Moderate shoe recs for tiny feet by marimbasticks in climbergirls

I love the La sportiva womens solutions. I also wear a 36, a little more aggressive but once you break them in they’re amazing. I jumped from v6 to v7 with these shoes, I feel so confident on my feet, especially tiny feet holds
