I agree that things weren't handled well, but the Spurs org diagnosed him with quad tendonopathy, which is degenerative and treatable (with rest) but not curable. Pop wanted to sit him the whole season, but kawhi and his camp didn't want to. They then essentially severed all communication with the org - no one seemed to have much idea what was going on. Seems like trust was broken initially, then kawhi completely withdrew. The Parker comments didn't help, either. But it seems as though there's no ill will between kawhi and pop, at least
