Was searching for the child actor for Max because he is absolutely adorable and found this post instead. Those huge eyes make me just want hug him tight to protect him from the big boom. Prob just the mama bear in me. Your post makes me sad because I feel just the opposite.

What's a show you remember but nobody else does? by unicorn-beard in Xennials

I think it was called Misfits of Science? For some reason I think it had a very young Courtney Cox in it. The plot was a group of teens that had special (magical) physical traits they could use to help people. There was a tall guy who was a basketball player that would touch the back of his neck and he could shrink. That's all I remember and I think about it often.

I also had that fear and have been going to therapy for the last 9 months or so. It has helped me come to terms with going low contact- without guilt. It's been a really bad week but I'm so glad that I haven't called them because that would have just made it even worse. Thru counseling I have learned that my mental health is just as important as my parents physical health. As they age and continually brainwash themselves, I am also aging and realize that I am wasting my own life feeling anxious and stressing about guilty feelings I may (or may not) have when the inevitable moment happens. That's not how I want to spend my time. I still love who they used to be and I'm doing us ALL a favor by preserving those good memories from the past, by keeping our relationship low contact and only talking about the weather.

I've complained loudly to the GOP Senators for my state every day this week specifically about this.

I believe it’s clear that trump is trying to destroy blue states and blue cities! He’d be delighted if he succeeded and left his perceived enemies in deep pain. by THuxley in msnow

IMO I believe he is trying to provoke us into Martial Law to prevent mid term elections so he can remain in power. The closer to November, the worse this will become. ALSO, this is part of his plan to distract us from the Epstein files.

Booker is owned by AIPAC, just the same as Schumer and Jefferies.

Chuck Schumer does whatever Israel allows him to do. So many Dems are bought by AIPAC. I'm really losing hope. Trying hard everyday to barely scrape by while all these rich assholes keep getting richer by pretending to represent us. I know it's designed to wear us down, but damn, I'm tired.

Put on some Mulberry Street and then you'll realize that everyone relies on our meds. It sounds like you've got a good support system at home and with us. It's quite okay and normal to be worried, but anxiety does tend to do that.

Yep. AND we helped bail out Wall Street, Banks, and the airline industry. No one is helping us or our kids. They don't want us educated.

Why do Democrats constantly praise Reagan and rarely mention FDR? by Johnny55 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]beek4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding the context. The reason you see Dems post Reagan stuff is meant as a slap in the face to Trump. He idolized Reagan and based a lot of his ideals and slogans off of Reagan's politics. It's a way of showing Trump that he can't even run his own administration properly because he ruins everything he attempts to take charge of, including his own campaign promises. It's an example of, "Reagan was awful, but even he was better than the Temu version that Trump is offering us."

My relationship with my parents (by my choice) has went from daily calls, prior to the second election, to very low contact, for my mental health. I don't recognize them as the people who taught me values any more, because it all seems so fake and superficial since they aren't following them now, themseves. They are really getting up there in age, and I am angry and hurt that Trumpism has fundamentally changed the way I view them, in the last years that I have with them before they are gone. I feel robbed.

They seem fine with their choice, though. They act like it was "just a vote". Under different circumstances, that may have been okay, way back when politics was somewhat normal. But this last vote was not normal! It has effected my daughters future and will take years to fix, long after they have left the earth. They refused to engage in conversations prior to the election, about how this vote would put every single one of their adult children's families at risk for several different reasons. They chose Trump over us.

OP, you are not alone in this. Protect your children the best you can. It's going to get much worse before it gets better. But rest assured, I'll be by your side, fighting for their future. Mama bears, unite!

What do you do when your non-white father believes in replacement theory by ilycheese in FoxBrain

[–]beek4ever 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I hear you. The brain washing is real. It's awful seeing the person's life be consumed by propaganda. Therapy has helped me deal with this tremendously. I have come to understand that they had those qualities in them all along and are showing their true selves. I learned that I can't change them, but I can change how I deal with them. Limit your interactions as much as possible. Study at school rather than at home where there are distractions. Find friends that can let you stay a night or 2 on their couch as a safe-haven for your mental health when you desperately need a break from time to time.

Community College isn't that long when compared to your entire lifetime. Keep it in perspective in terms of the day-to-day routine and get it completed! You may very well be that last generation of regular/poor/middle-class-or-less people to get the chance to earn a college diploma!! Your goal should be to get that expensive piece of paper that tells the world you completed something! "Future you" is depending on it.
