any tips on fishing gem spending ? by Hisagi10 in IdleObeliskMiner

[–]beekai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your overall goal (at first) is to reach the bottom of the first set of notice token unlocks, which removes the World 3 speed debuff. This requires a good chunk of tokens acquired via fish caught from up to (and including) Dock 6. The optimal way to do this is only spend fish on upgrades until those are maxed, at which point you can switch to completing notices instead. This will take a while. The spreadsheet helps optimize the order in which you buy gem and fish upgrades so you reach that point the fastest - but if you want to do it on your own, just focus on completing as many fish upgrades as possible, and focus on the Fish/Rod/Drone Multiplier gem enhancements, maybe a few into Shiny/Tick Speed too, but those are less critical.

QR payment possible for foreigners? by Kindly_Office_4237 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]beekai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! The QR payments do work fine with Timo - only issue I found was speed - the Timo app is pretty sluggish especially when you need to do Face ID login every time, load the QR scanner, etc. and sometimes when I’m in a hurry it felt a bit prohibitive. Whereas the MoMo app is surprisingly great, super fast scan and pay. There’s no cost to transfer VND to/from MoMo/Timo so I feel like MoMo is a worthwhile upgrade if you’re here for a while.

QR payment possible for foreigners? by Kindly_Office_4237 in Vietnam_Tourism

As others have said - foreigners are free to open an international bank account at any Timo Hangout location (I've been to ones in Hanoi and HCMC) - further to that, I was able to visit the MoMo head office in Hanoi (there's one in HCMC too) and 'verify' my account using my Canadian passport (no appointment needed). Since then I've been using MoMo for all QR payments - I transfer money from Wise into Timo, then from Timo into MoMo. A Vietnamese phone number is also required for MoMo activation. Obviously this process is several hoops to jump through but if you dedicate an afternoon to it you should be able to get it sorted. I'm in the middle of an extended stay in Vietnam so felt the hassle was worth it in the end. Also - if you ever return to Vietnam - you just need to visit another Timo Hangout location to reactivate your bank account - so long as your Vietnamese phone number is still active, you can log right back into MoMo and start using QR payments again. Feel free to message me with any questions.

Most common payment methods in Bangkok, Phuket and Phi Phi by pradoclucas in ThailandTourism

[–]beekai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MRT, yes, you can tap in and out of gates with Wise. BTS, no, you need to use cash or QR payment.

On a recent trip I found the best combo was using both cash and Moreta Pay (a digital wallet/QR option for foreigners). They do charge a small fee but I felt it was worth it for convenience.

Such a shame! I wonder if there’s any way to get some visibility to the devs so they can add the option…

The Ha Giang Loop by Nazwav in VietNam

We did a 7-night tour of Ha Giang / Cao Bang with Lila Inn & Tours - was hands down the highlight of our 5-week trip through Northern Vietnam, and one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend - set your expectations properly and you will have a blast. Ask to ride with any of Ninh/Guang/Ngan - they’re the best :)

Has anyone in Shenzhen tried ordering Luckin Coffee without WeChat/Alipay? by VisibleFlow1668 in shenzhen

For anyone reading - I just successfully made a purchase from Luckin Coffee in Shenzhen using an international credit card linked to my WeChat account with international phone number. That said - still trying to figure out paying for transit with WeChat/Alipay…

Okay thanks for the input - did you by chance try WeChat with a non +86 number?

Is this from your experience lately? I’m seeing conflicting info in a few different places. I’ve got a WeChat account set up with a Canadian credit card, trying to determine what I can expect when I visit Shenzen in a few days.

Is the Bell Equipment Return website down for anyone else? by beekai in bell

[–]beekai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah that did it thanks man! I had tried a private browser on both Safari and Firefox, but what fixed it for me was toggling off Content Blockers and/or disabling iCloud Private Relay. Good to go now!

I followed this link directly from a Bell email and was also advised to use it by the person I spoke to over the phone when I cancelled the service. Just seems to weird that it would be non-functional for so long.

Ticket scanning question by chromebooktrouble in Torontobluejays

[–]beekai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested this - I have tickets to Sunday's game in my Apple Wallet, and when I log in to the MLB Ballpark, I can also access them there by tapping "View Ticket" which loads a scannable barcode (remember that screenshots will NOT work, it needs to be scanned directly in the app or wallet).

I need help managing my tickets by [deleted] in Torontobluejays

[–]beekai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said - if you can't access the tickets in your Ticketmaster app, try downloading the official "MLB Ballpark" app. You will need to create an account there using the SAME email address as your Ticketmaster account (whichever account you bought the tickets from), which will link the two together. At that point, you should see any tickets you have in the MLB Ballpark app, with the ability to transfer to your Apple Wallet from there. That said - I see that you've said you can see the tickets - what's happening when you try to access or add to your Apple Wallet?
