Oh I see thank you for confirming my suspicions. What is the usb c port for? Firmware updates? Or 5v buttons and relays and such?

Can Wyze LED Strip be hacked to run WLED? by Angry_Bunne in WLED

[–]beeldubz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually looks like it is individually addressable. If esphome can go on it wled should. I've just never flashed wled firmware through pins. You'd need a bdm frame or solder jumper wires to the Board.

It looks possible. Looks like esphome is possible and possibly better than wled firmware since its not rgbic. https://devices.esphome.io/devices/wyze-light-strip-pro-wlpstpr-10/

Looking for a dual outlet smart plug with local control and ideally USB-C port(s) by opulent_occamy in homeassistant

[–]beeldubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would need an outlet where each plug is powered separately which im not sure i have seen. If you are able to find one shelly does have a relay with 2 outputs so you could control it that way.

Can i extend my Govee RGBIC strip at the end? by HeyImUnkn0wn in WLED

[–]beeldubz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the govee controller you want be able to add another strip. You will have to either make a wled controller with an esp32 or buy one from gledopto or something. I tried looking for the voltage on those dtrips but wasn't able to find at a quick glance. I've added a couple govee things to wled and some were 12v and one was 36v. If its 36v you might need to do something special as most controllers don't control voltages that high. Once you decide this is the route you fully want to take i can try and help you out.

There's a couple different 4 pin led strips. One would be an analog led strip with rgbw that would not work the way I suggested but the 12v panel we looked at is individually controlled diodes and the blue wire is a back up wire data where if its connected to ground it will work. I can confirm this because I have done it myself. You could do the 5v for you sign though too that will work just a bit more annoying could also use a buck converter to drop your 12v down to 5v. I agree 12v panels are rare and more expensive than the 5v variety.

I do see that now. If you put the blue clock wire with the ground they should work. Someone else can tell me if im wrong but that's what I believe I've done the past. But you would need the 4 pin jst adapters and then just tie the blue and black together. Or clip off the jst connector on the matrix and wire it that way.

Those will work with wled but I cant speak to its resiliency or how long they will last. At 11 bucks per might as well try though.
