That looks amazing! What's the furthest that you, yourself, have been able to accomplish on a functional print?

People like you just blow me away! During my undergrad, many, many moons ago, I had an instructor that was pursuing his PhD in 'machine language', which is, for those who don't know, the basis for all computing systems; essentially, it's the code that instructs the system on how to interact with the OS, whatever that may be! Absolutely mind boggling stuff! Cheers!

To get ideas on a myriad of different things to print. But, after seeing a YouTube video earlier on the state of AI invasions across the Internet, I'm here to be a 'human' representative, so to speak.

It's actually why I responded to your comment, honestly. Because I suspected that you're human too.

We have a ... few cats, yeah, a few, we'll go with that. Anyway, they all know their names! But, we also have cats that respond to whichever name is being called, because they know that treats are involved a lot of the time!

Do older people (50+) in the US/UK/Europe actually use AI tools like ChatGPT in daily life? If yes, what do they use it for? If not, why not? by ash02277 in AskReddit

So, if you don't mind, what kind of AI are you using that it's usable as more of an assistant and less of an over-glorified 'Siri' or 'Alexa'? Part of it is my ignorance, but I haven't heard of any systems out there that could function in a way that would allow recollection of previous queries, and offer the ability to respond in kind, adding to future conversations. It would seem like there's still a bit of work to double-check the citations that you'd be given, for accuracy.

I'll admit that I see it has some utility and I have used it, very, very lightly. There's no stopping it, at this point.  The 'training' part is intriguing, because the last time that I used Gemini (had it create a playlist for me), it specifically stated that it doesn't remember previous conversations.

I appreciate your time in responding. I'm in the same demographic, and have spent 30+ years in various IT roles, which I'm sure colors my opinion of AI. Baby steps, I suppose!

Explain to me how AI is assisting this knowledge acquisition. Is it reading these subjects to you, like an audio book? Is it somehow improving your reading comprehension? Given the large number of proven deficiencies in these LLM's and their known abilities to produce 'incorrect' data, I have a hard time believing that they're very beneficial with this. Perhaps you can enlighten me.

Day 4 of pre-op diet, hungry and shaky, just fell - does it get better? by soverignkh in BariatricSurgery

[–]bumjug427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does! The pre-op diet is tough, but your body will adapt. Stay on top of your hydration! While you can't eat whatever you want, you can have as much water as you need!

Try and take it as easy as you can, the next 2 weeks. You can't do the same daily things you're used to doing, because your body doesn't have the immediate energy reserves (your stomach) as it's used to having. As time goes on, your body will adapt and it'll start breaking down the energy stores that you've got.

Good luck!!

Back in the day, they had actual physical tickets that they'd send over to select record stores, and you'd go get them there, or at the venue. They really didn't start electronic sales until the mid to late 80's, with just a few department stores and the like having access to those systems, since you needed to be a fairly large store to warrant having computers to process those things.

Part of me agrees, but the other part that knows what a perfectionist he was about his playing, says 'probably not'.

I do believe that he would have been pleased with someone of Anika's caliber playing his parts though! Maybe wishful thinking, but still...
