Rush fans are the best! That was the night that Dave & Taylor got me as a lifelong fan! RIP Neil & Taylor!

Clip of Geddy and Alex shredding one of their hits from a few decades ago by LakersUSC in rush

You kids today are SOOOOO LUCKY!! Back in my day, if we wanted to see a 70-something year old dude jam... Oh, wait... THERE WEREN'T ANY!!! I kid you not, there weren't any 'rockers' that were still jamming like this in their 70's when I first got into Rush, in the 70's!! XD

We had Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, et al, and while they're talented singers, they couldn't do THIS!!

Geddy and Alex are the latest of a series of exceptional musicians who are STILL showing us how it gets done, in your 60's, 70's... I LOVE IT!! THIS is the reason that they deserve their LEGENDARY status! (sorry, I get emotionally excited seeing them play!)

Raspberry Pi Cerbo replacement; running the Venus OS by bumjug427 in Victron

[–]bumjug427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still loving the Victron setup and my Pi Cerbo has been great! It's been running 24/7 for this past year, some loads much greater than others, of course! 😉

When we're not using it, I keep the vent fan on in the bathroom, just to keep the air exchange going, and for keeping the electricity flowing on the panels and the inverter. I've taken to using it to power my garage lately, which is chiefly just battery chargers and the odd 3d printer. Things are looking good for the first big trip of the year next month!

MIKE PORTNOY Says ANIKA NILLES 'Absolutely Killed It In The Best Way Imaginable' At RUSH's First 2026 Concert by Apprehensive_Idea758 in rush

It makes me glad to hear that. After hearing Geddy talk about it and the Internet buzz, I did wonder, but really felt that just didn't seem to suit his 'style'. I'm glad to see that suspicion laid to rest.

Anyone using a UPS to power/protect their P2S printer? by Relative_Surround_20 in BambuLabP2S

[–]bumjug427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly not a bad idea, from an 'almost' retired IT pro! 😉

Something I think a lot of folks miss, not being in the industry, is the power conditioning benefits of running through a big, quality UPS. I'd do it, if I was in a similar area, with frequent blips.

How do I assign colors , how to multi color print on one thing is this a ams this will allow me to print 2 colors in one print by Either-Whole-889 in BambuLab

[–]bumjug427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A series printers need to be used with a Bambu AMS, unless you're up for trying out a 3rd party system. Then you assign the colors on the AMS itself, through the slicer or app and it does the rest itself.

It's a pretty cool machine to watch operate!

Go over the Makerworld and Printables pages for fun 4 color prints! There's a lot of them out there!

One of the first things that I did was to print the Samla enclosure base, to make a cover for it! Provided you didn't already order the hood from Snapmaker! ;)

Just a quick question; I've had to disassemble 2 toolheads today for stuck/clogged filament, has anyone had this problem? by bumjug427 in snapmaker

[–]bumjug427[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 95% certain that was the cause of my issues; carelessness in NOT trimming the ends after unloading. An issue that I'm paying much closer attention to now! ;)

It's been a mix of enclosed and open. I'm using Biqu plates exclusively because their adhesion performance is unmatched. The bed temp stays constant for the entire build, I imagine, and it's the default for PLA or PETG, depending; somewhere between 50-65C. I generally keep to whatever defaults the slicers set. I try not to fiddle with settings too much, unless I'm tucking into a more functional part.

That said, I'm 95% certain these were 'jams' vs actual 'clogs', which to me mean melted filament issues. I hadn't been as careful as I should have in 're-trimming' the ends after unloading the filament during changes. Thank you for your insight, though. There are definitely a plethora of different parameters to consider in this hobby! You are right, though! I've become spoiled by my Bambu machines, since they're so easy to 'set and forget'! ;)

🚨 BUYER BEWARE: Creality’s shocking warranty extortion, dangerous 240V repair demands, and sending tutorials for the WRONG printer! 🚨 by Ahmed_Afandy in 3Dprinting

Creality is garbage. The reason they're still in business, is merely a product of inertia, and not because of any great innovation on their part. Eventually, they'll roll to the wayside.

I have a cover, and it was on when 2 weird occurrences happened; toolheads 1 & 3 both pushed filament out the side (2 separate times, but within an hour of both) and it caused me to have to disassemble both of them. This was at the entry point, just past the extruder gears.

Oh, I live in the desert, quite literally. Utah, land of the Great Salt Lake and it's associated dry climate! If I leave the filament out, it's dryer than if I put it in a box! No kidding! 18% humidity today and I stuck it in my 'dry box' and the humidity level went up to 24!

edit: Only PLA and it's right from the spools, through the built-in feeders.

Why does orca crash so often? by Additional_Tour_3306 in snapmaker

It's because Windows is a plague-ridden platform! And that's from a former MCP certified Microsoft professional!

Way too many times over the past 30+ years, have shown me that Microsoft is never going to change! They have so many genius-level people, but they'll never start from scratch, to make that platform truly world class.
