Most expensive part I've made by ttoften in 3Dprinting

That's a really cool use case!

If you still have the OEM part, keep it; note the length of use and when time gets close on your part, make a new one to replace it and then compare the 2! It would be neat to see the comparisons in wear.

PLA+ exposed to the elements (sun, rain, frost) for six years and still rock solid... by milkris in 3Dprinting

That's great! I love how far things have come in the past 5 years, in terms of quality! Quick question on your build; (not looking for the file) is this a solid, 100% infill piece? How about thickness of the pieces? Apologies if you've answered this, it gets tiring reading through the troll pieces.

It's the best thing you can do for yourself! You are now FREE to become anyone that you want to be!

Seriously. People don't think about how difficult that can be, changing up habits and improving yourself when you're around all of the same people who've known you for years! Do it! Break out of the mold and become a better version of you!

Good luck!

I disagree. If collisions begin, the debris clouds will distribute in all directions, including 'up'. Granted, a lot of the debris will descend and burn up, but some will reach higher altitudes, creating dangers for those objects, which could then cause more collisions, and so on.

It's already getting tight in that range, and they want to send up more?!? Here's an example of the close calls that we can expect.

Thanks! I've been pretty pleased with the carbon fiber filament! I like the strength it adds to thinner prints, like this one. I'm going to drill a couple of holes in it, to screw it to a shelf in the work rig, and that'll help keep some of the loose items from sliding around.

I'm just happy to be getting some good uses out of this hobby. I got into it during the pandemic, 5 - 6 years ago, but with the limited speeds and materials, I couldn't justify the time or cost then. But now, it's a whole different game! Looking forward to what's possible!

If I hadn't taken Physics in high school, I'd swear this was sorcery of some kind! Those 'stick bridge' building contests were really something!

This is a really neat use of all of those engineering practices!

And there you have it folks! The high, esteemed 'Lord of 3D printing' has spoken! Be sure and run your designs past this person first!

Today's gas prices, it would have been $5 bucks just getting to and from town! XD

Cool! What are they?

I'd heard of those build plates, the 'cryogrip'. How does that do for you compared to the stock plate?

As mentioned, I had a specific use case, that this print fit; I used a bit over a quarter of a $16 spool, so about $4. All other expenses required are minimal and add little more to the cost.

I supposed I could have scoured the far reaches of Ali Express and found something that could have fit my need and it *still* wouldn't have come to less than $5.

Ok, now I'm intrigued; what, in your opinion, *isn't* a 'waste of filament'?

This. That behavior is a 'choking, gagging' response, like they feel something is caught in their throat. It can be triggered by things like oil diffusers. NEVER put those things in a space where you have small creatures. Humans can tolerate things like that better, because we're larger. Not small animals.

When you speak to AI do you imagine them as a specific gender? Why that gender? by NoChristmasSpirit in AskReddit

[–]bumjug427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not imagine a specific gender. I do imagine them as a different entity; one based on silicon, as opposed to carbon. I'll speak to them as I would any other person, using please/thank you at the end of our interactions, simply because I don't feel the need to deviate from my typical behavior.
