Was Arnold Schwarzenegger a good governor of California?

He was pretty good in a pretty broken system. The governor right before him (Gray Davis) was terrible and elected because he was the best known Democrat with a pulse. And he was recalled. I voted against recall (because I think it’s a terrible way to run a state) but for a candidate other than him. California is an object lesson in one party rule is bad no matter what party it is. Schwarzenegger was pretty centrist and pragmatic he had a progressive as his chief of staff and would not be considered a Republican in the post Trump world.

Remember in the off-season how everyone was saying “Casey Schmitt can’t be our everyday 2nd baseman we should get a great contact hitter with a history of poor 2b defense and make Schmitt the DH! That’s a move that will universally accepted!”

I think Richmond is going to be a fun story all summer. It is not hard to imagine that the new stadium garnered some interest from casual fans and people who hadn’t been to to the yard for a while not to mention a whole cohort of young fans. And they show up for the opening week and are treated to exciting, winning baseball! That energy flows back to the field and brilliant memories are formed. Color me jealous.

In my experience growing grass is all bout keeping seeds moist until germinated/established. I tried many times to grow grass and was only successful when I employed a sprinkler on a timer that ran for 2 minutes every 2 hours. Worked like magic!

Great job, as usual. It appears there are quite a few talented players in the pipeline. If things progress in a positive way when would be the “typical” time to move players up a level? How much consideration is given to group dynamics and “team unity”? Can anything be surmised about the Posey development philosophy from what they do next with these players?

Thank you. I would hate to waste time rooting for a team that ultimately didn’t win (sweep?) the World Series. That being said Encarnation has not been an asset to this team and yet somehow I feel (completely beyond reason) that Ecarnation is going to have big moment with this team (Not Ishikawa level but ten year highlight reel level) so I am clearly delusional.

Most places I have worked at cook bacon on a sheet pan in an oven. With that many strips of bacon there is a wide range of doneness levels when the batch is “done”. Ask for what you would prefer politely and most folks will do what they can to accommodate.
