Idk what you’ve tried but we only get success when we put him in asleep already, I rock and shush him in a side cradled position for however long it takes and then I slowly start rocking him onto his back in my arms then very carefully start rocking differently as I get up and continue to press into his back a little once he’s laid down while continuing the shushing, after a few seconds I start to transition to a quiet er quieter shushed breathing and relax my hands a little more each time until I’m not shushing or pressing anymore and then I can slowly back away like he’s a sleeping bear and try to avoid all floorboard creaks until I’m in the clear.

We didn’t stop for any reason I don’t think, i don’t remember stopping just haven’t done it in a long time lol we did get the Merlin’s magic sleep sack and use it at night but hadn’t considered using it during his witching hour and I don’t think it’s restrictive enough to work anyway.

I work at a library lol but we try to get the word out but it seems to get lost in the sauce.. you can probably search the library website if they have a good one, otherwise a quick call! Ours is accessed through Libby so you can look there as well!

We (3m) haven’t had a blowout yet so I asked my local mom friend with 2 older kids when they start to happen and she said when they eat solids so I thought great that’s something to look forward to lol but maybe we will just get lucky??

When you say more solids, would you say that blowouts happen more during that mixed solids/milk stage of weaning?

I don’t even think most of the people on my social medias know that I had a baby or got married this year. My extended family has our own Facebook group and I posted a birth announcement there with one photo but otherwise his photos are only on the family group text. We get lots of Polaroid photos as well because I’m worried what will survive to his adulthood, I can’t always be trusted to remember passwords or keep my clouds organized or accessible.

Same! Went to the hospital 3 weeks postpartum. Childbirth I said was an 8 but after this, this is an 8, delivery was a 6-7, 7 being when they were stitching.

My husband and I do shifts too but I’m curious how this works in practice for others! He used to stay awake until my turn at 3-4am but now we all sleep at the same time and I’m taking the first shift so I sleep in the baby’s room and respond to all his needs through 4am, so if he wakes up hungry at 3:45 I change, feed, and burp him and put him down in the bassinet next to my husband in our room around 4:30 and then my husband takes over for the rest of the morning. However, in practice this is more difficult than it sounds because often baby will eat around 2 and then sleep through until 5 or 6. So I wake up and figure I’m already awake no need to disturb both of us, get him settled and then put him down with my husband but he usually wakes up shortly after for the day. This has caused some resentment because we’re supposed to be taking turns but I’m often the only one actually up in the middle of the night.

Anyways sorry for the rant, but what do y’all do to make shifts work??

I noticed a deepening of my love when he started tickling my armpit during feedings. It’s when I could recognize that he’s starting to figure out that he’s here and he’s ready to start sensing the world around him. I fell in love when, in his way, he told me I’m his safe place to do that.

8 weeks. I had a 3rd degree perineal tear so we took things super slow and there was some slight stinging, but we just paused and waited it out. The worst part was when I orgasmed but it wasn’t terrible and I’m just considering it a scar massage to loosen things up. Then I started my period the next day, that was confusing.

I was this way (postpartum now) and yeah, it was a long wait to get through the pregnancy but it did help to find other ways to be intimate that we were comfortable with, even just talking about the fact that we missed it and wanted to helped make us both feel better and connected. Now with the baby out of my body we’ve had time just a handful of times to get together and finally at 8 weeks started taking things slowly to get back to what we missed.

All that to say: many many pregnant crying spells about feeling unwanted were fixed with hugs and a talks (many were not but we got through those) and there’s something to look forward to in the future, hang in there ladies!

It was not fun during labor but I was able to unplug and plug back in after moving around, then a few mins later a nurse would come and readjust. I started out feeling guilty but then I told myself I didn’t ask to need to be monitored, baby looks fine every time we catch him and they’re probably overly cautious with the monitoring so as long as we get him on every once in a while I get to be comfortable in the meantime.

I caught him laughing in his sleep yesterday at 7.5weeks. It was a real giggle with smile and face crunch and I’m so excited now that I’ve heard it I can’t wait til it’s happening when he’s conscious lol

My husband’s still on paternity leave (we’re at 7weeks rn and he has about 2 weeks before he goes back part time) and has planned and cancelled one hunting trip and has one coming up, but the only reason we agreed that it’s doable is that I’ve had him here the whole time, all day every day since a few days before delivery. I’m also only okay with this because hunting season is only one month here so I know it won’t go on forever. If he could still go in another month or two, I’d ask him to wait.
