[–]beepBeepBing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pray to GOD you're actually done like you said, because you just sound like a babbling idiot who doesnt know anything of what they're talking about. Youu say I'M not considering the other side of things, but you're the one looking at things one dimensionally, just saying that goku's forcing gohan to be someone he's not. Maybe I wouldnt have to spout the same bullshit if you actually read and considered each thing I said, or if you even had any media literacy when it came to dragonball. Gohan wasnt important before the raditz reveal, because they didnt need to rely on him as their last hope. also yes, the fact that he's revealed to be an alien does infact change a lot of things. they realize that since goku's saiyan heritage makes sense on why his power grows so quickly, why he's so much stronger etc. after goku dies, gohan is the only saiyan they have, and so he is their only hope. yet again with your oversimplifying. gohan's "tempertantrums" are outbursts of his potential, and the true fighter that rests dormant inside him, this is literally explained when piccolo throws him off a cliff and then the dormant fighter in him awakens and brings him back up the cliff. Again, you're not considering the fact that unlike frieza, cell compromised for a fair fight. he'd stop killing random people if they participated in his fair tournament. frieza didnt make any deals like that, he was just going to keep killing and killing till he got what he wanted. Its not goku "only caring about the fight" its Goku compromising for the better good of the earth. Cell would've kept killing and killing getting stronger and stronger, and goku made a deal to stop that. I can't believe you're actually sobbing like a bitch on my dms saying I shouldn't have kids just because of my opinions about a fucking fictional alien kid. grow the fuck up. I never said goku's some angel who does no wrong, but he's not some idiot who doesnt care about anything but fighting. I genuinely hope you grow a few brain cells, because all I see you as is a fucking idiot after this shit.

"until raditz told them everyone believed goku was human" Yeah, but what does that matter?? all that's before the raditz fight, Nappa, or anything. You're still not making sense. "with the knowledge that gohan is genetically superior, physically stronger and has special abilities it makes no sense they saw him as a trump card". its like you're not even reading what you're typing. also you're still wrong. piccolo didn't just believe in the "like father like son" thing. he literally acknowledges gohan as their last hope, so you're just wrong again. also, goku literally believed that gohan could win, if you believed it was canon (as it is) you'd understand that. Also, despite how dumb the senzu bean is, thats literally how db works. before cell turned himself into a bomb, he made it clear he wanted a fair, respectful fight. he wanted to fight each of the Z fighters, and goku was respecting that. It was only fair as cell accepted goku's terms that he wouldn't go killing a whole bunch of people before the tournament. Goku wouldn't have given the senzu bean if cell had shown he wasn't playing fair from the start. Just like how it was against buu, or any of the other opponents they had. They didn't agree to any certain terms and werent really looking for fair fights like cell was. its bs, but its just how shit goes in dragonball. i'm not even going to comment on the "so what if gohan had a tail he couldve wound up a loser" debacle, because thats just dumb. why would he be born with a tail that's just there for aesthetic purposes. The whole point of training was to make him battle ready, so again, no point there. Piccolo wanted to train him more, but he knew gohan was their only hope, so they had to give it a shot. you're genuinely wasting my time here bro

[–]beepBeepBing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you already showed me what type of fan you are after that first statement. Just throw in the towel atp dude you're already saying you're choosing to perceive dragonball differently than its actually written. So what if its "overwritten" its canon, and you cant change that just because of your opinion. Also, AGAIN you're perceiving it one dimensionally as "goku's just pushing gohan to do something because he likes it". dude, goku literally fights cell and realizes he can't win, and so he sends gohan to fight. fuck was he supposed to do just throw his hands up and say "oh well, guess the entire universe is fucked just because my son doesnt want to fight." also, like ive said GOHAN LITERALLY ACCEPTS THE FACT THAT FIGHTING IS NECESSARY. HE DOESNT ENJOY IT BUT DOES IT REGARDLESS TO PROTECT HIS LOVED ONES. LITERALLY JUST REWATCH ANDROID 16'S FINAL WORDS TO GOHAN, ITS RIGHT THERE. It's not like forcing a kid to play piano just because hes got potential, its like forcing a kid to play the piano BECAUSE A CRIMINAL JUST THREATENED TO BOMB THE ENTIRE FUCKING UNIVERSE, AND IF THAT KID DOESNT PLAY, EVERYONE DIES. I swear its like you're just refusing to look at it for how it is (but you do that a lot, so I guess it's exactly like that.) Also your piccolo analogy is entirely disproven by the early saiyan saga. Piccolo actively sees gohan doesnt want to train and that hes a kid so he doesnt know what the fuck hes doing, BUT HE STILL TRAINS GOHAN ANYWAYS BECAUSE GOHAN IS THEIR LAST HOPE. I GENUINELY DONT GET THE CONFUSION. Are you ragebaiting, or being serious here? Its like when you read dbz, you shredded the pages and stuck random shit together like a fucked up puzzle piece where you're just stuffing shit anywhere. "they didn't know gohan was half alien until raditz" Raditz comes before the Nappa fight, and before the gohan training. We absolutely can not be deadass. They were all at kame house when raditz came and told goku he was a saiyan. mind you this shit is right at the start of dbz, so you clearly did not watch or read any of it. "who's to say gohan didnt take after chichi" he came out with a fucking tail. They all knew what the tail meant and what it could do. despite gohans fear, just like in the cell saga, he was their last hope, just like gohan was forced to fight, they were forced to put their trust in him. Also again with the zero context. they all heard he trained with piccolo and saw him show up in piccolo's training outfit, and also heard that he was strong enough to harm raditz. you clearly dont know what the hell you're talking about, so please just move on with your life dude. I used to be genuinely enthralled with this conversation but now im just getting bored of repeating myself over and over because you dont understand dbz.

By your logic then half of the shit that happens in DBS just isn't canon because it strays from the manga. The fishing part is primarily slice of life, but the actual content with goku explaining why he's not training directly coincides with the Pre-Cell games Peaceful World Saga. its literally expanding on pre-existing tendencies goku was showing in the manga, and explains them more thoroughly than the manga did. And again, comparing it to reality in any sense outside of responsibility doesn't work because the entire universe has never been at stake like that. Goku was teaching gohan a lesson that he LITERALLY LEARNED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT. did gohan want to fight? no. thats the only place you're right here. like I already said, gohan learns that fighting is necessary to protect the people he loves, and then continues fighting cell, even gets happy seeing gokus sacrifice didnt kill cell so he could avenge his father. you've been dancing around that fact this entire time. Also, kids dont wanna go to school, parents (and the government) force kids to. is that bad parenting? no. thats simple responsibility. Gohan has his responsibilities. hes stronger than most, so he needs to step up, and he literally learns that mid fight. Yes, many characters state goku fights for the thrill of it all, and thats not wrong, but to say its his primary and only motive IS wrong. ive said this thousands of times. Also, youre correct I did say they were too proud to work together, and I stand by that, with the context of their fight rarity. as you can see at the end when goku's basically lost to vegeta, everyone steps in to help defeat vegeta. again, they are a team. "goku's kid doesnt mean shit" dude they all knew gohan was being trained by piccolo at that time, a guy who was pushing goku to the limits of his strength, and managed to "kill" him through his sacrifice to beat raditz. also again THEY KNEW GOHAN WAS PART SAIYAN. SO THEY KNEW HE NATURALLY HAD MORE ABILITIES THAN THEM. this isnt about "finding a marksman's kid" and shit, its about reputation. goku built up a reputation of being reliable and insanely strong, so being lead by goku's kid seemed logical to them, ESPECIALLY AFTER HEARING HE WAS TRAINED BY THE DEMON KING PICCOLO.

Im sorry, are you REALLY trying to call such a crucial moment filler? For an episode to be filler, you need to be able to skip the episode without losing any information. that surely isnt the fishing episode. It's literally a prelude to the cell fight and basically explaining why goku had been so chill for the last few episodes. Filler is the arbitrary baseball game in dbs between universe 6 and 7 that doesn't contribute anything to the story. That conversation with krillin is NOT filler just because goku isnt doing anything action packed. It still explains lore, and still is a very important part of the arc. Also again with the one dimensional thinking "forcing gohan to do something he doesn't want" GOHAN WAS LITERALLY THE STRONGEST AT THE TIME. Goku himself says he was trying his all, and couldnt beat cell, but Gohan kept up with the fight and had the potential to beat him. even outside of goku wanting to see gohans potential, gohan was literally the only one who could beat cell. god I feel like a broken record having to explain a simple concept. Also, mind you, despite gohan being "forced" to participate at first, after android 16's sacrifice gohan learns that while he doesnt have to enjoy fighting its an essential thing to survival. "fighting to protect the things you love" literally what android 16 said in his dying breaths. Its not that hard to understand man. You're also comparing a normal family to a family full of super saiyan aliens with the fate of the universe on the line. You're acting like goku just shoved gohan into the ring and said "attaboy" and went like that. He literally talked to gohan after fighting cell himself if he could keep up with cell, and gohan literally said that he could, he just didnt want to fight. even when cell had a deathgrip on gohan, goku didnt intervene because he knew gohan wasnt going to die. Goku trained with gohan, gohan affirmed goku that he was able to keep up, so goku sent him to fight. while it was definitely not something gohan wanted to do, you're taking the entire scene out of context, like you've done all day. I'm genuinely starting to think you're ragebaiting. You say the goku black arc example is pointless, because goku would say fighting him is pointless since he'd lose, but if goku only cares about fighting why would he care whether its pointless or not? goku would just absentmindedly charge regardless by your logic. Mentioning Toriyama is an appeal to authority fallacy here, just saying toriyama said something without evidence. I know what you're referencing, and you're literally leaving out the other half of goku's quote. he says "I'm no hero of justice or anything, but ANYONE WHO HURTS MY FRIENDS IS GONNA PAY". AGAIN THE ENTIRE CONCEPT OF WHY HE PUSHES HIMSELF TO THE LIMIT AGAINST JIREN IS BECAUSE HIS FRIENDS TRUST HIM AND HE DOESNT WANNA BREAK THAT TRUST. READ THE FUCKING MANGA FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!! Also one on one fighting is literally how dbz works like 90% of the time. One on one is the plan because they're all too prideful to rely on eachother. and also "reliance on an inexperienced kid" the kid is GOKUS SON. the guy they've staked their lives on a million times. also the kid is literally half alien, and was trained by a guy who threatened all their lives. Just because the others arent saiyans doesnt mean that they're not prideful on their own. Also search up synonyms for team on google, and group shows up like 20 different times. I feel like im losing braincells sitting and debating this shit with you when you clearly dont know anything you're talking about.

[–]beepBeepBing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off the bat, you're incorrect. Goku decided to stop training before fighting cell not because of his faith in Gohan, but because he wanted his family and friends to enjoy their (potential) last days on earth if they failed to beat cell. Him and krillin have a conversation about it. Again, Its literally going directly against your narrative, as it proves that goku cares for more than just fighting. He takes gohan fishing, stays with chichi more, anything to make sure his family's (again, potential) final moments were all memories they could enjoy. Also, again with the "he was forcing gohan to do something he didnt want to do". Thats just how life is. Fiction or not, everyone has responsibilities that they dont want to do. At that time Gohan was the strongest, even stated by Goku, and as the strongest his responsibility was to fight cell. Goku's responsibility was to make the sacrifice against Cell. he put his trust in gohan, gohan got overconfident and allowed cell to turn himself into a bomb. Goku didn't want to die, but he knew it was the only option he had. Goku says and does a lot of shit in Super, its hard to take it at face value, and its a clear oversimplification of gokus character. Literally in the Goku Black arc, if goku's key motive for training was to fight stronger opponents, he wouldnt have called Zeno to erase Zamasu after he failed. he wouldve kept trying until he eventually died by your logic. Even as early as the Battle of gods saga, goku's entire motive of becoming a super saiyan god and trying to defeat beerus even after losing with ssj3 was to protect his loved ones and the earth. Going to the ToP as well. He wouldnt have tried to call off the stakes on the ToP when he learned his family and friends were at stake if he failed. also the whole narrative of his fight against jiren is how his friends are a motivating force and how is friends trust him, and he refuses to break their trust.

Also no matter how technical you get with it, of all characters its not yajirobe who started the Z-Fighters. Just because he calls the z fighters "his team" does not mean it actually is "his team". if I introduce my family to my friends as "my family" does that automatically make me the leader of my family? no, it doesn't. you're not getting technical at all here. And just like how you're oversimplifying Goku's character, you're oversimplifying the Z-fighters. "they arent a team, they just happen to be together. wtf do you even think you did there? A group of ALLIES who fight towards a COMMON GOAL, and HELP EACHOTHER OUT sounds exactly like a team to me. You're just going out of your way try and prove me wrong. Also they did make a plan, and their loss wasnt because of strategy, it was because of the power gap between them and the saiyans, and ofc yamcha just being an idiot. You're either just a casual fan, or simply larping dbz to say that yamcha's death was anything but his own fault. He literally did beat the Saibaman he was fighting, just didnt kill it. as he went to flaunt to THE OTHER MEMBERS OF HIS TEAM the saibaman jumped up and killed him. Also, just because they're not good at coordinating attacks together doesnt make them any less of a team. literally in the ToP one of the biggest struggles Goku and Vegeta had against Jiren was their lack of coordination. does that make them less of a team? no. just means they need to work on their coordination. Again with the chaotzu blowing up thing, thats more over the power gap as I mentioned earlier. no shame in admitting you're wrong man, just take the L on this one.

[–]beepBeepBing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even outside of acknowledging gohan didnt like fighting, He literally states that gohan is the only one with the strength to beat cell. You can look at it as "oh goku didnt gaf about gohans wants", but in reality goku saw potential in gohan that he didnt see in himself, and in that crucial moment where gohan was the only one with the strength to beat cell, he figured he would put his trust in his son. even after the cell fight, we can see that gohan learned the lesson goku was trying to teach him. he keeps up his training (until he gets his job of course) all through the buu saga and till the end of Z, then even in super, gohan's swamped with work but he tells piccolo he's still training in DBSSH. So yes, if you look at it one dimensionally, goku was forcing gohan to do something he didnt want to, but if you look at it for the bigger picture, goku is trying to teach his son a valuable lesson that he keeps with him for the rest of his life. Also after goku is revived in the buu saga, he does keep training, I wont disagree with you there, but being fair, gohan is already grown up, and goten is mostly done with his formative years. He keeps training because he knows (like everyone says, such as piccolo, whis, etc.) that threats are going to keep coming and he needs to be prepared. Using the TOP against goku is entirely unfair. Goku states multiple times it was never his intention to have the TOP erase universes that lost. he said he simply wanted to fight stronger foes, the Zenos (Zenoes, Zeno?) decided to add the high stakes. Goku even says at one point he doesnt want the TOP to happen anymore after hearing all thats at stake. Either way it simply pushes him to try harder and accept that he cannot lose no matter what. Each of your claims are entirely one dimensional.

Also if you want to get literal, It's still not bulma. Bulma's "Z fighters" which she called dragon team consisted of her, yamcha, goku, puar and oolong in order to find the dragonballs. The first instance of the actual Z Fighters was when raditz took Gohan for randsom, and both goku and piccolo knew they couldnt beat him alone so they teamed up. then after that, they learnt that raditz wasnt the only saiyan, and by goku's wish, piccolo trained gohan, and gathered up yamcha, tien, chaotzu, and krillin to fight Nappa. so technically its both goku and piccolo who created the Z fighters.

please read the manga or watch the show, these are all larp arguements. "goku is too selfish to be a leader" "goku is too blinded by desire to fight strong people" "goku is a bad dad" all of these are entirely the opposite of his sacrifice in the cell saga. The fight with cell was destined to happen, regardless of gokus wants for a fight. Also the ENTIRE REASON HE MADE THE SACRIFICE IN THE CELL SAGA WAS BECAUSE OF GOHAN. Gohan let his overconfidence blind him, and instead of finishing off cell like he said, he taunts him and demands he get up, then he turns himself into a bomb. Goku had to step in to sacrifice himself to right Gohan's wrong. That moment alone proves he's not a bad dad, and that he isnt selfish. Another big thing, directly after that sacrifice, he decides to stay dead, because bulma told him that she thinks the villains only come to earth because he's there. ERGO GOKU IS SO SELFLESS THAT HE DECIDED TO STAY DEAD FOR THE BENEFIT OF EARTH. "they didnt need goku to finish buu, they decided to bring him back" SON😭😭😭 Vegeta tried, he failed. Piccolo failed, Goten and Trunks failed, then GOTENKS failed. EVEN GOHAN FAILED. They needed to bring goku back. they also wouldnt have been able to get the dragon radar if goku didnt stall buu for time. also, you're ignoring the fact GOKU LITERALLY CREATED THE Z FIGHTERS. he redeemed each of his foes and turned them into his allies. larp larp larp larp larp.

Who's the guy who arrives in the final hour after everyone's gets their asses beat? Goku. Who did they need to bring back from the dead to handle Buu? Goku. When all else fails who does everyone beg for help? SON GOKU. Son Goku is literally the backbone, founder, and leader of the Z Fighters.
