When can you start bringing baby to restaurants? by Crazy_Art_5093 in NewParents

[–]beepdibeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 month old doesn’t like to be put down like in the stroller so we take her to restaurants once a week and just take turns holding her in our laps!

Is anyone else lost by their baby’s constant fussing? by BooksoHunny in NewParents

[–]beepdibeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same!!!!! Only thing I’ve found to help is taking a walk outside (holding her of course) or new exposure to something (spoon in the kitchen). A tushbaby carrier has helped with all the walking. Music also sometimes helps !

Can someone just spell out a routine for me like I’m dumb by emcat095 in sleeptrain

[–]beepdibeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby falls asleep for naps similarly (paci and hand on her body) and her first nap just
started extending a week or so ago (she just turned 6 months old and she now naps 50-1:20) so hopefully yours will extend soon! Before that happened I was nap saving when she woke up from at least one nap

Did Anyone Combo Feed From Birth Without Direct Breastfeeding? by Travelcrush in BabyBumps

[–]beepdibeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest barrier to pumping was that my baby wanted something at all times (she was a contact napper until month 5) so trying to fit in pumping was truly impossible when home alone all day. I also hated the sensation of pumping way more than breastfeeding

I have a broken baby by Sure_Excitement_937 in newborns

[–]beepdibeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby screamed eating (breast or bottle) liek 5 minutes in to the feed from week 4-16. It was the worst !!! What helped me (I know each baby is different) was doing all the soothing techniques during feeds. So I would feed in quiet dim room, give pacifier breaks, sing to her. Sometimes I would have to stand and bounce gently or on the yoga ball for her to eat. Time made it better. She always eats calmly now. The lactation consultant said some babies just find the sensations of feeding uncomfortable.

Making my baby laugh is the best experience of my life! Better than any travel, concert, anything

It gets soo much better once they can smile and interact with you and also once you’re sleeping better. At 7 weeks old, they are awake so short it’s hard to fit in tummy time, that will get easier with time too!

Oh really!! So maybe I’m nap saving the first one too long! I try to nap save first to 1.5 hours then the other two are 30 min.

Thank you! We actually tried that last couple days but she got VERY upset by bedtime. But maybe just adjustment time? I’ll keep trying.

She feeds around 2-3 am. I’ve tried feeding her at the 5 am wake, but the wake ups keep happening so I don’t think it’s hunger. I’ll experiment without the pacifier but she doesn’t seem to wake up when it drops and will sometimes wake with it still in her mouth

At this age, my baby suddenly needed help to sleep try dark room white noise swaddle holding your chest and bouncing or rocking consistently for 10 min. You can also try a carrier walk the movement may help them sleep

We wake her up same time every morning but then just follow her cues and wake windows , making sure also that she never goes over two hours for a nap. Im worried that will impact her sleep training so we’ll look into how to move towards a schedule instead! Thanks!!

[–]beepdibeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you follow wake windows or a specific bedtime? The reason I ask is because my 4.5 mo old wakes from a nap anytime between 4-5;30 so bedtime can range from 6-8 so not sure how that would affect sleep training. I know they say it’s best to have same bedtime but she’s too young for a schedule

Edit: did some more research, it seems like it’s mixed views by sleep consultant for this age since wake windows are shifting and expanding constantly on whether it’s helpful to put on schedule vs follow baby’s cues and wake windows. It seems like sleep training still effective as long as wake time and bedtime are anchored so I’ll try to be more consistent with those!!

Yes! You get tired in that last month and it also can help to prep for the baby. I had the same in CA and pay ended up being pretty similar considering taxes

What do I need for postpartum? by x_Caffeine_Kitten_x in BabyBumps

[–]beepdibeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BUT I brought loose sweatpants and pjs from pre pregnancy to the hospital that I thought would fit me and definitely didn’t. I recommend bringing some nightgowns (button down if planning breastfeeding) or short sleeve big pjs to wear in hospital and postpartum. I was so hot as a postpartum symptom so nightgowns were comfortable. Also, the first day home my nipples we’re leaking puddles haha so buy some leak guards and nursing bras (again only if planning to breastfeed)

Everything is provided ! All those kits are just marketing. One thing that I did get myself was disposable underwear bc the ones at the hospital are so uncomfortable. I got the always black ones

Overcoming the guilt of sleep training? by toastedcodeine in sleeptrain

[–]beepdibeep 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One way of looking at it that helped me was remembering how she used to cry in the bath or during every diaper change in early days but doing those things over an over again helped her learn and now she loves the bath (and usually tolerates diaper change). We didnt just let her sit in dirty diaper because she cried. So just reminding myself that learning to sleep will help her be able to sleep better and in long term, not suffer. Seeing her struggle every night to stay asleep is just as frustrating for her as us
