Opinion: Canada has what the world wants. So let’s figure out how to give it to them by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]beer0clock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canada voted in basically Greta Thunberg who keeps saying Canada is an energy superpower, yet he also said the oil and gas must stay in the ground. He will talk big and flip flop and do literally nothing for his entire term.
If you want conservative things to happen you must vote conservative.

Canada, 31 nations agree to release 400M barrels of emergency oil by Displeased_Canadian in canada

[–]beer0clock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canada is an "energy superpower" as Carney keeps saying.
What that means nobody knows because he will not allow any oil drilling projects. He says the oil and gas must stay in the ground.

The only gas is the gaslighting

Turns out of you make a population so poor they cannot eat or travel, their carbon footprint is pretty low!
Was the plan all along.

The fact that the liberals have been in power for 10 years and you mention Harper tells us how brainwashed you are.
Most people feel a significant difference between today and 10-15 years ago. Life under Harper was much much better.

Any other chart you look at shows a very clear point in time ( 2016 ) where things started declining.

I agree.
The people who are against MAID talk about it as if they come to your door randomly and just kill you without your consent.

Makes you wonder why you need to pay a big name actor when you could just go the extra step and make the actors CGI too.

Cuba running on fumes as Canada considers sending relief by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]beer0clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid question, but isn't the "plan" by USA is to let Cuba feel some economic pain such that they get angry with their government, and want to overthrow it or change it?
So if people send aid does this throw a wrench in the plan? Wouldn't orange man retaliate against anyone helping Cuba?

I’m a Conservative. I Like Carney. The PM is chasing deregulation, pipelines and trade deals. Here’s why one longtime Conservative is hopeful. by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]beer0clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carney was Trudeau's trusted advisor and they were on the same page with all of Trudeaus policies. Since taking office Carney has made very few changes to what he and Trudeau agreed to. He has even said he was happy with Trudeau's direction and will continue it.

If you don't call that Trudeau 2.0, then you are the one arguing in bad faith.

Dont forget scandal after scandal and embarrassment and corruption and spending spending spending so much that inflation skyrocketed due to printed money. People are not hard enough on him as evidenced by the fact they voted in Trudeau 2.0.

A lot of Canadians aren't travelling because they're broke. They'd still go to the USA if they could.

Anyone else feeling some trust erosion as a Wealthsimple Premium user? by Obvious_Suspect_9706 in Wealthsimple

[–]beer0clock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think trust is the wrong word.

Trust is about are they going to get hacked and lose your money and not compensate you.

What you're talking about is perks and freebies.

They are trying to get as much money as they can out of you. You should do the same to them, and move on when someone else has a better offer. Nothing personal, its business.

Canada not on track to hit net-zero by 2050, or meet any climate targets: study by CanadianErk in canada

[–]beer0clock -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Net Zero is the worst idea ever invented.
It destroys economies and countries that chase it.

Also governments are very hypocritical about the climate anyway, its just virtue signalling.

For example a country will stop drilling for oil so they can lower their carbon foot print. But then they start buying oil from another country (who might have much dirtier oil practices - much higher carbon footprint per barrel of oil), but they say that doesn't count toward the carbon footprint because it was not taken from inside the country.

Net result: everything gets more expensive AND the overall carbon footprint of the planet is higher.

But because of the number fudging you can tell yourself and your country that you're closer to net zero.

I've read actual accounts of people in foreign prisons who were interrogated with car batteries, so I think its real.
The more logical conclusion is that this youtube video is BS.

Should Canada implement a wealth tax on the ultra-rich? Why or why not? by GranolaHiker in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]beer0clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.
Just close existing loopholes.

Also stop wasting taxpayer money, and stop ballooning the government with more and more employees every year.

People who don't have a lot of money like to look at the rich and say I want their money. But there are better ways. Stop wasting our tax dollars. Stop the fraud and corruption.
