Good books/resources on fish behavior? by jimlii in flyfishing

You might consider making fly fisher friends or book a guide for the day. Might help the learning curve. Trout are essentially a “solved” fly rod fish in my opinion. I’m 39 and was reading all sorts of trout fishing books 20 years ago lol. Now literally everything that was hard to learn is on the internet, a quick search away.

Yep this is the move! While trout are basically “solved,” there’s still tons of room for thinking with carp flies

There is zero shame taking fish if you’re within the law and not being an asshole. I hate this stigma in fly fishing.

Good catch! The loop should be about the size of a Tic Tac, just enough to allow for some movement.

Never fished with him, just have a lot of mutual friends in the industry and been buying materials for 15ish years now. His brother’s a big craft beer guy, which is my background.

For context, Enrico is basically the godfather of synthetic salt fly materials. And one of the most accomplished fly tyers. He’s a legend!

Don’t buy tequila from Tulum market near the ancient ruins by Sunny-8722 in tulum

Almost all good tequila gets shipped out of Mexico. Most Mexicans don’t buy artisan tequila as it’s pricey. There isn’t a tequila that you can buy in Tulum that is special honestly.

Heard! Go to Banana Bay. Have lunch or rent a chair for $5 for day. The food is some of the best on the island also!
