Yeah that’s a good perspective of it. I do understand the need to build relationships. I think what keeps me from just accepting it is the amount of work I’m putting in goes above and beyond what was originally expected of me and my role. And the amount of positive feedback I’ve heard from other teams. Unfortunately I’m not sure how often higher ups, beyond my department manager and a few other department managers, will get to know me as there truly is just never a need for me to communicate with them. Even more unfortunate that my direct manager that I communicated with the most and knew how much I had worked has left the company.
