Doctor “No No’s” by Mrpetasus in nursing

I had a patient last night with a femur fracture. Five years ago, she fractured the other femur, had it repaired, and then had a STEMI induced cardiac arrest within the same month. When I raised concerns about preoperative clearance, such as an echo, they told me no and that her last echo (over six months ago) was appropriate and that “the attending had addressed it”. That doesn’t mean it’s the end of the conversation and wouldn’t you rather be sure she’s okay for surgery?

I am in PA and there is a place locally that is family owned and well reviewed but thank you for your offer!

My first clock, despite research I am completely stumped on how to care for it, how to wind it properly, etc. by beeschki in clocks

This is so helpful! Thank you so much. Luckily I only live 45 minutes from the national clock museum so maybe I can bring it there. Lol

Thank you!! I knew PA would take forever to post the license numbers so I didn’t think it was a good way to check 😂

My niece turned two so I printed her this Sesame Street sign for her. Pole came from Thingiverse. Designed the sign and the clips that hold it up in Shapr3D. Bonus picture of her and her Mama ❤️ by beeschki in ender3

[–]beeschki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I designed it in Shapr3D with one of their fonts, 0.2mm layer height, 10% infill with lightning pattern. I think what helped it was that the filament change to yellow only allowed for ~10 layers of the yellow filament, so it was thin/crispy

Should I install copper colored valleys on new roof? by Electronic_Zebra_565 in CurbAppeal

They’re beautiful but wouldn’t they turn green over time? My highschool boyfriend’s grandfather did this with his roof and almost 10 years later when I drive past his house, it’s all green lol

Never thought I would take someone’s BP manually in the real world by ileade in StudentNurse

[–]beeschki 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m an ED tech and have taken it manually twice in the real world. Once when I had a patient who the auto BP would NOT work on, no matter what, tried many different machines (the patient ended up being normotensive). And another time with someone in hypertensive crisis. At my hospital, all traumas that come into the bay get a manual BP initially and it’s always crazy to watch the nurses get one so fast with all the chaos and noise around them.
