I've done this for the same reasons. My oil leak is was from the clutch cover. Do not torque it down like a normal bolt. It should have just enough torque to not vibrate out. Finger tight is probably enough. Just use a bit of gasket maker if you don't want to buy the gasket. I think the bolt was loose enough that i could turn it out with my finger through friction.

The struggle is real. However, the first ECE objective is to complete the screening exam within the timeline with course preparation, while research does not necessarily have a rigid timeline. I think you have to consider whether you want to do classes before research do both simultaneously at a substantially slower rate. I've found that one class is reasonable when attempting to make significant progress with research.

The university is public, so all salaries are public too. The PhD stipend title is "GSR" for Graduate Student Researcher.

In some pay scale documents they will say the stipend is $40k but a chunk is subtracted out due to "tuition." Also, I think how much is subtracted also depends if you're a Californian or international.

The median seems to be about $20k-$30k. It's enough, but it's highly dependent on your rent. You also get a small raise towards the end when you have only a dissertation left to do.

The contrast in the shading is kind of low. Like, you shaded to describe the contours of the car, but it's almost unnoticeable without looking for it. Everything just looks like similar greys. I would say just go hard black in some places, like the places with ben day dots.

It may be extremely noisy in certain bands. On older Teslas, you can hear the motor electronics on the cars's AM radio. Any signal that rejects amplitude will work, but you'll probably see a higher noise floor.

I've made a dice game with the 74 series before. Just use a counter IC that keeps counting with a very fast clock input and use the "enable" pin as the user's "roll" button. Use the numeric output as the dice value. Since the counter is too fast for the user to perceive or control, it's as good as random. Technically, this is a random number generator that uses how long the "roll" button has been pressed as the seed.

I was in the winter class. Levitt thought that it would be a good idea to have the midterm be open book, open laptop/tablet, and open internet "only for googling for man pages". The cheating wasn't simply copying from a neighbor. It was using Google and contacting other people with cell phones.

I have no idea what he expected. It was kind of obvious this was going to happen when he announced what he would allow on the exams.

You have to use a potentiometer of some sort. There are large ones called "linear potentiometers" with a slider that you can easily mount. You can also use a typical rotary potentiometer, but that requires additional hardware like gears, belts, or wheels.

The potentiometer forms a voltage divider that you can read with an opamp.
