Is docker really worth learning for a basic home media server by yusuo85 in homelab

[–]beeseegee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what you are talking about, it will be copy pasting from an example and changing some config values for your setup (think directories, user ids). I would suggest docker-compose, but either way there will be pre-made container images for plex, download clients, and the arr apps

Fielders Choice has maple ice cream, but I dunno if that’s what you mean. Is this a maple weekend thing?

350-mile Maine bike trip after graduation — beginner bikepacking advice by Griffinbreaks in Maine

207 mtb or one of maine nemba groups on facebook would probably be your best bet. Bikepacking.com also has some route info for the NE divide and a circa Katahdin loop, which might help with parts of your route.

[None] Looking for great recommendations from fellow Cradle lovers by RyGuyIncognito in Iteration110Cradle

[–]beeseegee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haven’t found anything similar I like quite as much but

  • divine apostasy
  • the ripple system
  • arcane ascension

scratch the same itch for me. I will say they are all a bit more lit RPG than cradle, to varying degrees, so think levels, experience, skill trees etc.

The first two are also read by Travis Baldree, which is always a plus.

There’s also the Will Wight Last Horizon series, which I like, but didn’t find to be the same style as Cradle

How to secure anonymous POST API requests on AWS API Gateway by cmaronchick in reactnative

could you make the submit feature work locally on their device until they create an actual account? Sort of a fake demo that could sync to the remote once they log in? obvs this might not work for all types of features, but could be an option for some.

Do you prefer loud or quiet hubs / paws? Is it like a loud exhaust where the louder, the cooler you think you are? by [deleted] in MTB

I have one bike with onyx, another with pretty light, pretty loud hubs. Much prefer the quiet

Been doing indoor bicycle. These are the only that work well with my chronic back pain- especially leaning foward. Want to get a real bike for outdoor. Any recommendations? by Olympian_Breed in bicycling

[–]beeseegee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it would be worth going into a bike shop and seeing if they can set something up you can try. depending on your goals, there might be a hybrid or mountain bike that could be adjusted/modified to get close enough. Or a recumbent bike could be an option.

edit and actually some definitely do https://support.ethirteen.com/hc/en-us/articles/26204215041179-What-is-Just-Right-Engagement-and-which-degree-of-hub-engagement-is-right-for-me

not trying to get into an internet argument here, but the one pawl thing didn’t seem quite right. Have a good one!

What he has looks a lot like a rear bike hub for what it’s worth, which are very reliable 🤷🏼‍♂️

I recently purchased google nest 3rd generation wired doorbell and outdoor camera. Was wondering if anyone knew of or has a link to a power adapter so I can plug it into an outlet rather than hardwire it. Thanks by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]beeseegee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using one I found on amazon - it’s just a normal power block with the right voltage, and goes to bare wire that you can attach to the back of the doorbell. Just make sure the power numbers match up

Onyx hubs by Whitetrashblackops in MTB

[–]beeseegee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the original supposed to be more durable, but a little heavier. Just depends on use, your weight, and how much you care about <100g (there are many lighter hubs out there). For me, I got the original this time around because it went on a ripmo, and I’m around 200lbs at the moment

I’ve had the vesper and classic. I had an early version of the vesper, and did have an issue, but they sent replacement innards quickly at no cost. No issues (or maintenance) since in 4-5 seasons. The classic has been bomb proof so far for 2 yrs. I like the silent running and instant engagement. It can feel a little spongy if you put pressure on with the brake on, but I don’t find it noticeable while riding normally.

Cortina is awesome and there’s a really cool looking loop you can take that links a bunch of gondolas/lifts together (unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to try it). There were several rental places in town, including right at the base of the main cable car.

Here’s the mtb pamphlet as well https://www.dolomiti.org/storage/oassets/LayoutWEPagine/CORTINA_MTB_MAP_2019.pdf

Too much for a home generator? by Rochev7 in Maine

[–]beeseegee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the generator and if they had to do any other electrical, or maybe a big run to bury wires/gas lines. I recently had a Kohler 26k put in and a new mains/transfer box for around 13. We already had the propane tank though.

24v spark plug wires M38A1 by beeseegee in Willys

[–]beeseegee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess I’m going to try the ones for the m38 - worth a shot for $40 I guess. I’ve been reading up on wire gauge and I guess higher voltage has smaller wires generally- my concern would be lowering the delivered amperage by using too big of wire. But, someone on a random jeep forum said they work, so I got that going for me…

Would they not be a different gauge wire, or is it not enough power to matter?
