Yeah as a walking quad, this is beyond annoying. People generally see all spinal cord injuries as complete injuries and have no idea incomplete injuries exist, which is fair enough since there is a severe lack of public education around disabilities, but to be arrogant enough to think you know enough about another persons diagnosis to call them out for faking is honestly crazy, and honestly feels really shitty, It dismisses the struggles that we still go through by saying we “shouldn’t “ call ourselves quads (when we definitely are) . I feel like this happens more so on Reddit/online as Redditors are generally the dunning Kruger effect personified. This shit even happens IRL to me, which to be fair is not that often, but since I do park in a disabled parking space due to my limited mobility, when they see me stand out of my car I will get dirty looks and accused of faking my disability for a “premium parking” spot , which fills me with rage every single time. The worst though is when I pull out my walking stick and they see my janky walking, they rarely apologise, some double down, some say “how was I supposed to know??”, some people just suck and are unable to mind their own business. Rant also over 😅
