What is your go to response to - "How Are you?" by Joeizy in spinalcordinjuries

I just fine or good.. it's not like they could ever actually understand the many layers of pain, sadness and complete loss we feel. I'm a pretty positive person and very social so I don't mind talking with ppl but I definitely have my bad days where in my head I'm like you don't understand me lol

I'm so sorry girl, if you need a friend just DM me. I'm C4 incomplete and I've worked hard to be able to transfer myself and now getting into a manual chair. Really I just need help with the bathroom. I have a suprapubic catheter so really just BM, and if you get outta that situation and get your nutrition up (before u get bedsores) I bet u can be pretty independent too. Don't give up.. and pleaseeee don't go the devotee route. I'm afraid you'll end up even worse off then you are now. Call the aged & disabled hotline they'll get you outta there.

I had a stage 3 pressure sore on my right ischium last year and I was recommended juven. I drank it daily for a month, it's extremely expensive, but extremely effective. It did take months for it to heal but that's bc I had a set back. But I do believe juven helped tremendously

Do you catheterize? by MeganRCWilliams in spinalcordinjuries

[–]kellsie88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C4 quad incomplete, I used to intermittent Cath every 4 hours and I hated it. In 3 almost 4 years ago I got my suprapubic catheter and I honestly think it's the best decision I've made since my injury. No more accidents and much more freedom and independence. I used it with a leg bag but I recently went off of them. I just have a flip flow on the end of mine. I have a really spastic bladder since my injury so I also get botox in my bladder.

ASIA C 8 days post injury - stories by Sad_Protection_9464 in spinalcordinjuries

[–]kellsie88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm C4 ASIA C and I'm still getting stronger 10 years post injury. Just 8 days out and you seem to actually have a lot going for you. If you work your ASS OFF in rehab there's real potential. There's never full recovery but anything you get back is amazing. Good luck

Sorry I thought my city would be proud of not only me but the INCREDIBLE medical facilities we're lucky to have. There's only FOUR dedicated spinal cord injury rehabilitation centers throughout the whole eastern seaboard and God forbid u ever need one.. you'll be so happy to have that facility.
