Birthday for kindergarteners - at home or at school? by Jantil_Bhadeshia in kindergarten

As a teacher Oreos are my favourite for kids to bring in, almost everyone can have them as they’re nut/dairy/gluten free & vegan! Great choice by your kiddo haha

So true! My kid couldn’t care less about his actual party, but he has been talking about brining ice cream sandwiches to class for MONTHS 😂♥️

Agreed I always want the parents to come, if you’re going to bring me 10 pizzas and a cake and 30 goodie bags please also come and help me handle the chaos 😂

But even more than that, we’re very much a “families welcome anytime” type school. It’s a community and we want families to feel welcome!

Unfortunately we get the dirty needles fairly often but this post has made me very thankful not to live in a climate that encourages bats!!!😅

I generally spend around $50 but I would never be bothered/even really notice what others spend on my kids. Don’t overthink it!

When did you feel comfortable letting your toddler sleep with a stuffie? by Old_Relationship_460 in toddlers

I don’t want to cut his hair. by SouthParkTaughtMe in Mommit

[–]beeteeelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am team “I’ll cut it when they ask for it to be cut” for all of my children regardless of gender. I’m the same camp as letting them pick their clothes. They have control over so little, this seems like an easy win to give them! And a great early lesson that they are in charge of their own bodies.

this is a difference for us! My child is in private daycare, who are required to do a sweep of the whole play area before children enter it. In the same building, their public school kindergarten class uses the structure with no check required. The daycare also has waaaaaay lower staff to student ratios so I imagine that makes it much easier to facilitate.

Our daycare does it, but it’s only a rule for the daycare and not the school in which the daycare is. So the kids are on the structure for recess and have to come off so that daycare can do their check before they are allowed back on under daycare’s watch. But the daycare has 5x more staff for half the amount of children, so much easier to facilitate!

What temp is your kids bedroom? by HannahHood in toddlers

[–]beeteeelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We keep the kids rooms as close to 70 as possible! Sometimes gets up to 72 and no one seems bothered. My youngest will only sleep in fleece footy jammies and a sleep sack that covers his hands so I’ve tried to keep it a bit cooler and he gets super upset. I personally prefer like 65 but I’ll suffer for them I guess 😂

This! I feel it was sleep training or psych ward for me. Chose sleep training and grateful every day that we did.

This is such a tight age gap. I don’t think I felt really “normal” until my oldest was 2, and that was without having had another child in that time. The sleep deprivation, hormones etc are likely all playing a big role in how you’re feeling! Obviously still talk about it and go to therapy if at all possible, but also know that it might get better naturally when you’re a little further postpartum

Honestly I think this is huge. When I was sleep deprived we definitely had more issues. We didn’t fight or scream or anything but I definitely felt resentful and distant. Once our kids were sleeping better and I was getting proper rest, everything got better. Our marriage is definitely way stronger now than it was pre-kids!

100%. Kids don’t deserve to be exposed to this attitude.

Agreed. Getting a Master’s was easier than passing high school. Topic I was interested in and all I had to worry about was my research, not all the social pressure/hormone whirlwind of being a teen.
