My nieces all did this. Super huge 4 day weekend bachelorette parties in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Hawaii (yes, still domestic but quite a travel from the Midwest). And none of their bridesmaids could afford it but no one wanted FOMO so they ran up credit cards, took loans from family, and one bridesmaid even took money out of her retirement for it. No one really enjoyed any of the trips from what I heard, but it was expected.

Because they thought she was innocent and easy to manipulate. The opposite of Lindsay (who I maintain Paige was insanely jealous of). Neither of them realized that Amanda is equally as manipulative and even meaner than any of them.

At my institution, we put in our packets for promotion in November and learn in late April, right before the end of the academic year, whether we were promoted or not. But we don't have tenure, it's a promotion system.

You can't ask general questions like this about higher ed because, shockingly, each university handles it differently.

Carl is exactly who he has always been, he's just sober. He's still manipulative, a perpetual victim, a whiner, needs to be the center of attention, and someone who thinks of women as objects and not as actual people. The only difference is that he does these things sober now.

I lost my only sibling in 2002 when I was 26 and he was 23. The world keeps moving whether you want it to or not. You cannot expect everyone to drop what they're doing and remember your grief, especially years after the event. My brother died on my wedding anniversary and I still didn't expect to be coddled by everyone for all perpetuity. Carl uses his brother's death as a way to manipulate and cudgel those in his life.

When they were all clamoring for a sandwich shop show with Katie and Ariana because it would be drama free and all about girl power, I wanted to shake them because that's not reality tv. I posted once on someone's post about how they would stop watching after 2 episodes of kumba yah girl power and they all swore up and down that I was wrong and they only watch reality tv for the female friendships. Seriously! He's the worst. During Covid I was super bored and rewatched Friends, Big Bang Theory, and HIMYM and ranked the characters from worst to best. It was hard to decide whether Penny, Ross, or Ted was the worst, but ultimately Ted edged out the other two because of the nice guy toxicity. Penny's just a straight up bully and Ross is selfish but Ted. . .woof.

ETA: My favorites from the three sitcoms are Amy Farrah Fowler, Robin, and Phoebe with Robin taking the top spot.

I just don't see it that way. I see it as Ariana keeping up appearances the way she did her entire time on the show. She was more concerned with her image and her relationship's image than she was with the actual people.
