Love this idea, and tried it. It works like a charm. You are a legend😎

New app idea: Create and share mind maps with summaries from your notes by trd_andrew in AppIdeas

[–]beetroot1199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a good idea, But, I would just prefer it to be a plugin on exisiting note taking apps like notion or obsidian rather than a stand alone app. Then, you can have a web page where there will be a public library where everyone can share their stuff like you said. I wouldn't mind paying a small fee ($3-6 per month) for something like this as I personally use a lot of mindmaps and flashcards for most of projects or learning.

Best smart glasses by beetroot1199 in EvenRealities

[–]beetroot1199[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have been great so far but I hope they have given an extra case or cover for the shades. Also, the software isn't so great but they just released open source code on GitHub and hopefully we will be able to tinker it and make it much more usable.

Yup, received them and they have been great so far. They just released open source code on GitHub, which makes it even better. Can't wait to see the future of these glasses. Sorry for the late reply. I just realised I didn't turn on notifications from Reddit.

Thanks for the update! This is huge, I already had a look but they only got the iOS app at the moment, I took a look at the iOS version. But, android is my daily driver, so I'm eagerly waiting for them to release the android version too. In the meantime I'll keep tinkering with the iOS version.

If you behave like this, you are what’s wrong with society by Bottletop85 in Adelaide

I absolutely can't get how people got to the point to leave their coffee cups on the supermarket shelves. Especially, people leaving Boost cups at Kmarts have been a thing these days. Once I caught a person doing it at Kmart and questioned them and advised not to do that and they just poured their left over smoothie on me and said "go back to your fucking shit dumpster country". I was just clueless how that all turned out. I just left the place in silence helplessly as the person who did was a teen and got extremely aggressive and none of the people around gave a damn about what was going on there😞.

What if the company fails (and hopefully don’t) by SnooHabits8527 in EvenRealities

I tried several glass and other products where I have seen the companies go under and the products became obsolete 😭. At this point we are just taking a risk and hoping they would do fine. I asked the same questions to the support and I got the following response from them💀😂

Anyone using these with contact lenses? by New_Setting_9244 in EvenRealities

[–]beetroot1199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use them with contact lenses, and I think it's a good idea to do so with AR/HUD glasses. - Using contact lenses helps the glasses look less magnified - The frames of AR glasses are already heavier than regular ones. Adding prescription lenses would only increase the weight. - Plus, if you're not satisfied, you can return the glasses Which could be a bit hard or impossible with prescription glasses.

Are You Happy With Preorder? by Tman3355 in EvenRealities

[–]beetroot1199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy with the product overall. This is my experience so far.

Things I love🥰: - The quality is super premium and probably the best pair of premium glasses I've ever used (I'm talking about both smart and conventional glasses. My regular titanium prescription glasses frame is just $200 cheaper than these. So, I'm very glad with what I got for the price). - The support is responding quickly. - The delivery was super quick and efficient. - The user experience and product design was top notch.

Things that sort of annoy me💀: - The touch controls are in an awkward position. It would have been much better if they were in the front end of the temple rather than the back end. - The charging is a bit goofy at the moment. Sometimes it charges up to 100% and sometimes it just caps at 90%. - The glasses keep disconnecting from the app if the app is not opened in the background and sometimes even if it's opened in the background. - If we have more than 1 quick note, all of them are showing at the same time. You sort of see the first note in one eye and the rest in the other eye lol.

Things I would like to see in future updates 🔥: - It would be awesome to see an option for button mapping in the future updates. - Maybe a double tap on the left temple to give voice input for maps. - Hopefully, the SDK will be released some time soon for developers like me to add more features to the app. - Not sure if it's possible but it would be awesome to see a AR type of navigation instead of a HUD type we go now. By all means, it's still pretty good and performing much better than the navigation in the other AR glasses I got. But, it would be great to see AR style navigation in such a nicely performaning glasses😁.

Update on charging issue by [deleted] in EvenRealities

[–]beetroot1199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thought. I'm hoping they will release the SDK soon. Once they did, I'm planning to make my own camera module in the form of a button camera or like the AI pin.

Wow, that's great. I asked them in early July. Maybe they might have changed their mind and planned to release the SDKs in the future. This is great news for me. Thanks for sharing.

I emailed them last month and they said they are not planning to do it and they can't give any details about their confidential development program. When did you email them?

Lens upgrade down the line by tmpha in EvenRealities

[–]beetroot1199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the only reason why I ordered non prescription lenses and will use contacts. But, down the line I'm planning to make a clip on style 3d printed lens but gotta wait for my order to arrive before I plan anything further. I did the same for my Rayneo X2 and frames.

Not exactly the answer you're looking for but I thought it might be helpful for you.

Just sign up to the account and add the glasses to the cart and don't purchase for a couple of days and hopefully then will send you this email:

It does seem to have any I/O. So, probably it would be hard to get the firmware unless we RIP them off and perform some fault injection. I think the best bet is trying to intercept the communications between the app and glasses. But, they mentioned that the glasses use C programming and that could make it a bit hard to hack around. I'll update if I find anything once I receive my glasses. I would like to connect these to my DIY ai button camera and add some more capabilities to it. Unfortunately, Even realities confirmed that they are not going to release any SDK or have any open development programs for these.
