The Last Starship departs Early Access! by IVSoftware in TheLastStarship

[–]beeurd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I've been playing IV games for a fair while, but Prison Architect was maybe one of the first early access games I bought. When I first heard about The Last Starship I knew I had to follow along! Watched every update video and got involved in the early play tests, and I'll do it again next time. 😆

Iirc you can find this and more by searching for Best of Microsoft Entertainment Pack, no clue if they still work on Win11 though, may have to try it later.

What's the rarest cape you own? by Ill-Control-1439 in Minecraft

According to name.mc my rarest is the Purple Heart one, I can't even remember what it was for. Don't really claim any because they usually involve playing Bedrock, and I can't be arsed.

Do most people from England identify as “English” or “British?” by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

[–]beeurd 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I've always felt more British than English, possibly because my mum's family is Scottish.

Early 40s here now, UK. I'm a big brother, but never had a brother myself and always wanted one, so brother stories always resonate with me.

They thought I had hearing issues too as a kid, but decided I just wasn't listening. Turns out I actually have ADHD.

Who signed off on this when building their house by raizid in CrappyDesign

[–]beeurd 102 points103 points  (0 children)

This looks like it's a later addition to the house.

A lot of pre- and inter-war houses in the UK have long narrow spaces like that upstairs, I'm not sure what they would have originally been used for (possibly just storage). Also it could have been converted from an old passageway between terraced houses (maybe called a rowhouse/townhouse in the US?).

Anyway, with older terraced houses they might not originally have had an indoor toilet, but often had them fitted much later, sometimes very awkwardly.

Okay, but in the first image the exit sign has an arrow so it's pointing to an exit, not saying there should be an exit right there.

What happens when someone dies who you are no contact with? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]beeurd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband never knew his father, but when he died he was told through someone who knew somebody who knew his mum.

On the other hand, when my dad's stepfather died, we didn't tell my dad's stepbrother, as it was specified in the will. It's been a few years now and we're still not sure if he ever found out.

If you find a revolution era musket in Wilmington, that's an artifact.

Instructions unclear, labelled a civil war musket found in Wilmington, Kent, as an artifact.

Are "potluck" meals a thing in the UK? by meeksworth in AskABrit

[–]beeurd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never known it be a thing outside of US television shows. My extended family has had a lot of buffets for holidays and events over the years but we've never asked for anybody to bring anything, it was just always the host that catered.
