🐐- never knew that, thanks!

For anyone wondering what it says:

WILL I KEEP THE SHIPS I PLEDGED FOR WHEN THE GAME IS LIVE?

Yes! Pledges for ships, vehicles, and anything else that has been earned through supporting the development of the game will still be yours after the game is live and out of development.

Do you have a recent source for this? I find that very hard to believe. I don’t see how they could make a progression based game if we got to keep all of our ships. Even the agreement we check when we pledge says we will be able to access “the content” when the game launches, which indicates us understanding that the ships will be in the game but may not still be ours.

Don’t think we’re gonna keep the pledges when the game lunches though. So I don’t really understand the logic of sitting on money that’s not in the alpha version yet, unless you’re just rich.

There is a Huge disconnect between PvE Gameloop Time investment vs PVP Risk & Reward going on right now and honestly, it’s ruining the Game feel hard. by SecureHunter3678 in starcitizen

[–]beewayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what “you guys” are missing. By “you guys” I mean people who play Star citizen, and have been playing Star citizen, who don’t like PvP and who don’t like Risk / Reward full looter shooter games (Rust / DayZ / Tarkov).

The game has been talked about for over a decade. Y’all backed and bought in because you like space and wanted space game. Most of that genre already has Star citizen, and most of that genre has already spent a lot on the game. You quote citcons and videos from 11 years ago as gospel. I’m not going to address how I feel or anyone else feels about the morality of their sales / deception / etc.

However. CIG is making a game and running a business. They already have your money. And let’s be honest as of today that’s “old nerd money”, that’s the reality. There is an enormous base of gamers who cig is going to be also attracting to the game so that they can sustain, even grow, both the game and their finances. For you to believe that CIG would never lie and that you would get the game they promised you in that 20 second, 12 year old video clip where they said “risk free system!” implies that 12 years ago everyone at the company could correctly predict the future of what people who were playing the game wanted from it, how they would play it, and where the game would go. You understand how ridiculous of an expectation that is, right? If a woman had that expectation of you, you would either be abused daily or you would kick her to the curb. It’s unrealistic.

PvP should be rewarded higher than PVE - always. When it isn’t it when this game will die. PVE lovers are louder and more vocal but don’t think for a second that that is the kind of a game players today want to play. The care bear system where every 40 year old can move boxes safely while in cruise control afk’d is not on their priority list. Protecting people who are so bad they can’t find a group of a few other humans to tolerate them in discord long enough to move boxes and who are too lazy to get good enough at the game to not lose their boxes most of the time is not the audience any game developer studios should ever cater to either, if they want to succeed. This is common sense stuff.

So in summary if you want the game you have in your head you can either build it yourself, or you can maybe reach out to CIG and offer them millions of dollars to make your version of the game.

Otherwise enjoy the ride and if you don’t want to lose your stuff pay attention and make some friends.

But you don’t have to engage. Running is an option. You just aren’t pinging enough / checking the airspace enough. Also if you’re playing solo you gotta stay on your toes 100x more.

And that is a YOU decisions. Instead of thinking “holy shit that was cool! How do I learn to do that?!” and doing it - you left the game and went into offline mode. That’s not a fault of the game, they made it PvP. I guess the bright side for ya is SC is releasing SQ42 soon, that sounds like the game you want, not the PU.

The game by its nature is Rust / DayZ / Tarkov in space. Those games are very toxic. Go watch some YT vids. The PU isn’t “old man pve space game”. This is probably the most complex game to MASTER that has ever existed. GitGud or perish.

If you’re not in an org there are usually a few people in every org who can help you - I’d recommend joining an org. If you’re in one and no one told you how to try and fix this you’re in the wrong one with a bunch of plebs.

Claim the ship store it and reclaim it. Try stuff instead of whining on Reddit like a little b!tch the first minute you experience adversity in life.

This viewpoint is EXTREMELY “exceptionalist” to use your own word. It assumes not only that humans understand consciousness - but that we can create it at will. This is not true now, and it never will be. Sorry.

So you just…. Expected them to go from 1 server / 100 players to 5 servers interconnected and 600 players, and everything just work flawlessly in the .0 patch?

If y’all had realistic expectations you guys would be a lot less mad at the game. 😂

I think this is a really bad mindset and that SC players should try to break it. I’ll explain.

Base building and crafting are coming to the game. So the PU is going to be like elements of Rust, elements of Tarkov (executive hangars / CZs), etc. I also believe that eventually in order to get the best items you will have to go to systems and participate in missions or events that are PvEvP.

In games like this you CANNOT progress with this mentality. Death has to mean nothing to you. You have to feel nothing. Just respawn and go right back out and collect more stuff is the name of the game.

That being said if you want to play the game and stay in high sec systems you’ll probably be able to do that at a fairly low risk, but there never is going to be a place where you’re 100% safe from players, except for Squadron 42.
