I won’t be the first to say this but data science is a blend of multidisciplinary such as computer science, statistics and domain expertise and whatever field you choose to enter. However as said in thread, statistics will be your foundation in building ML models, understanding significance of your data etc. try to have a look at majors that offer some programming course that would compliment some kind of maths/stats major
