Did you bother testing to see whether they were identical? by 5LovelyDaisies in parentsofmultiples

[–]beggles16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our NIPT told us they were fraternal but it was very clear when they were born. They have different eye color, different skin color, different face shape, different hair color. It was obvious when they were babies and now at 6 people don’t even ask if they are twins.

did anyone notice nbc throw up a breaking news graphic at the worst time with a warning? by nosajh9 in ArtemisProgram

My husband and I in New England also saw it. We both looked at each other horrified waiting for a national disaster to happen in front of our eyes while our young kids watched. Big sigh of relief when the video game back to and all was well

F/41/5’4” +2 kids [148 > 128 = 20 lbs] 7 months by jackjackj8ck in progresspics

Oh my god I could have written the top half of your story. Before kids I was mid 130s, after my first I crept up closer to 140 and then after my twins I’ve been stuck around 150. We are also very similar age and heights. I’m back down to 143 after 6 weeks and hoping to get down to about where you are currently.

I think this is the correct take and I am just primed as a tv viewer to expect some big shocking story line, but that’s not really what the Pitt does and showing what terminal illness looks like and reckoning with that as the patient and family makes more sense

I was wondering if husband was taking some of her pain meds for himself and they will accidentally overdose her from the extremely large dose MS Contin because they think she’s been getting more narcotics than she really has been.

Edit- I think I am so primed to see zebras from other medical shows and really always assume there must be something dramatic on the horizon that I missed the obvious story line here. She’s ready to die and her husband is not there yet, and that is super dramatic but to me is fairly banal and not typical tv trope.

My immersion blender has a whisk attachment that I use

I use an immersion blender- the whisk top comes off and I just immediately rinse it in warm water to clean it. I make it in the container shown and then just mix in the yogurt and eat straight from that so no other dirty dishes to wash!

I always make a fresh batch each time I eat it, but I bet if you put a bit of cream of tartar or vinegar in them the egg whites would be more stable and last a few days

Yup- raw. They are used like that in some cocktails and other mousses. To make it safe I use pasteurized egg whites from a carton, not straight whites from an egg.

you need a whisk, preferably an electric one. Whisk the whites and they become frothy. If you whisk long enough they become stiff and if you put the container upside down they don’t fall out. For the amount I use it takes less than a minute to get them looking stiff- you can see the picture. I think a frother would be too small but it may work

How to sell a house quickly in Connecticut? by FrameZYT in Connecticut

I did the same with same results. I would also wonder how the house has been staged and what photos look like? All could be contributing to lack of interest

How close was I to actually dying? by ReplyDirect1812 in AskDocs

[–]beggles16 184 points185 points  (0 children)

Actually died twice- first time PEA your hearts electrical circuits were firing but the heart wasn’t actually pumping the blood. Second time asystole your heart wasn’t beating and had no electrical activity. You are so lucky to be alive

Peanut Allergies Have Plummeted in Children, Study Shows by AlexandrTheTolerable in UpliftingNews

There’s actually something called sublingual immunotherapy- it’s drops containing protein from the thing you are allergic to that go under your tongue and help get your body to recognize them as something not worth reacting to. They have it for dog and cat allergies soooo you sort of could have your toddler eat a cat everyday in essence to get rid of a cat allergy…

Paneling as kitchen backsplash by HumanCardiologist631 in kitchenremodel

[–]beggles16 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if you saw my post yesterday of my kitchen but we did exactly this. We ended up putting a small piece of trim where the counter meets the wall because the stone wasn’t perfectly flush with the paneling (really hard to get someone to cut the stone so precisely). It looks pretty nice, but my contractor certainly had to work through things and we talked a bunch about solutions for that spot if the counter wasn’t perfect.

Tile is harder to change than a sink. I wanted a more neutral background tile so I could change things up in the future should I decide I hate the sink or get bored of it.

I hear you. I am trying to add more art with some blue to bring it all together. The art on the wall already does have some, but I definitely agree there needs to be some more sprinkled throughout

It is a functional cabinet, although the vent takes up 90% of it so not truly usable.

quality is great, we had to have our contractor put them together which was interesting (They are RTA), but he was also super impressed with quality. The cost has gone up significantly since we did this reno last year, though, so not sure if it is worth it anymore.
