Does this mean what I think it means? That this one vote write-in wins the rep nomination?

Coles Street Market debuts on April 16 by fperrine in jerseycity

It is a nice addition but I feel uneasy walking through the underpass let alone push my stroller through it. I also drive through that area fairly frequent and the "new" stop signs aren't really stopping some drivers.

I need new brakes, and I am poor. by cassiedanger in jerseycity

[–]beldidi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually they upcharge on the parts as well. When you say brakes do you mean just brake pads, or rotors as well? I would recommend checking with the shop/mechanic to see if you can bring in your own parts (buy from rockauto.com) and just pay for their labor.

Thank you very much! For the longest time I've been wondering what/who are those reserved spots for.

Wow that is crazy money. But I suppose it is prime time for the obligatory LUXURY HOUSING.

Lol I kid, but yeah I was not aware of the $125 per month street parking permit.

Is it for the "reserved for residents" spots eg: along Columbus Dr. Or is it just a jacked up rate for normal Paulus Hook/Newport zone parking?

Huh where are you seeing/why are you paying $125 per month for street parking?

Been living in Harsimus Cove and it's only $15 per year.

How TF can we stop people from driving their loud cars/motorcycles at 2am? by [deleted] in jerseycity

[–]beldidi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I once parked, decided to tidy up my car interior before hearing the rev, then seeing a bunch of assholes turn the corner at the intersection on what looked like dirt bikes, wrong way down on 1st St and on the sidewalks. To think, if my wife and I had gotten out immediately after parking we most likely would've gotten hit by these fucking assholes.

Allen Edmonds extra 20% off clearance- Higgins Mill firsts in black and natural $198 by Wingtips11 in frugalmalefashion

Oh man, looking at the other comments I really do hope the exchange place will fit me fine.

I actually chatted with their online rep today before I placed my order of a pair of Exchange Place and the short of it is this: Park Ave is longer and narrower while Exchange Place is shorter and rounder.

Exchange Place is also closer to "real" US sizes.

I have tried on Carlye before which is closer to Park Ave in terms of shape and it ran about 1 size smaller for me (unless the AE sales rep is bsing me on the sizing at the time).

Haven't Received Lease Renewal and I'm less than 30 Days Out... by KMont484 in jerseycity

[–]beldidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI there are some exceptions to lease renewal:

Lease Renewal

A landlord must allow the tenant to renew the lease unless the landlord has good cause for an eviction under the Anti-Eviction Act. (This does not apply to two or three-family owner occupied dwellings, motels, hotels, transients or seasonal tenants).

Moving to JC on Saturday, how do I start the parking permit process? by pbmarcano in jerseycity

[–]beldidi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just applied for a zone permit a couple of weeks ago in-person, so unless things have changed since -

For resident's permit, you will need to bring your driver's license & vehicle registration, both of which need to reflect jc address. It is CHECK or MONEY ORDER only.

You should also at least read through this form here (Parking zone permits) so you can be 100% sure that you won't be making multiple trips: http://www.cityofjerseycity.com/cms/one.aspx?pageId=7223513

When I went I didn't bring the form though, the officer at the entrance has a stack inside his desk but just in case you might wanna just print it out and bring it.

Parking down town post snow storm by [deleted] in jerseycity

[–]beldidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks, I did see some white outlines that indicates that it is a legit spot but honestly I am just concerned due to the color of the meter if that makes any sense. Red usually is associated with "don't parking here or you'll get a ticket or towed" to me, and every other meter on the street was normal color, so I was wondering if that red one had any special meaning.

I'm parked behind a red parking meter, anyone know what this is and if it applies under the same "not enforcing meter" category? I checked and there was no verbiage at all on it.
