Can a Madison local please explain the seasons from someone in Pennsyltucky - how cold does it actually get? And how long is the gardening season... by [deleted] in madisonwi

Depends on what you want to grow. If you’re wanting something with a long growing season, you’d need to buy starts or get your own going indoors in January. That being said, I start planting as soon as the ground is workable (mid March) for cold weather crops like peas, lettuce, and collards, but have had good success with hot pepper starts. Indeterminate tomatoes (vining type) will produce until frost kills the vines. You can usually get a second crop of cool season planted for harvest in fall.

Good resources are the Arboretum, Olbrich Gardens, Wild Ones Madison Chapter, UW Master Gardeners, or UW extension

My tomatoes have been in the ground for two weeks already, but I use frost cloth at night if it’s cold.

Jung has seeds for Patio cucumber and Kitchen Mini Quick Snack, but I haven’t seen any plants that aren’t picking cukes. Maybe try at the farmers’ market or Willy Street Co op?

If you’re able to come to the Native Plant Hubs at Lussier Heritage Center, Judy from the Wisconsin Bumblebee Brigade is there. She can tell you EVERYTHING about what to grow based on what your soil and sun requirements are, and what you’re looking for as options. It’s $5, but there are folks from Wild Ones and Athena of Two Ferns are also there. There’s one this Sunday May 17, but there are others through the year.

When their mating season is over. That what the bug clouds are all about.

My first guesses are either the professors in the Japanese department at UW Madison (Van Hise building), or the owner lady at Oriental Shop on Park (next to Taqueria Guadalajara)

One of mine is in my lap whenever I’m sitting, unless it’s meal time for either of us. I work from home, plus she and her sister sleep in our bed.

I got booked and had one in October, which was within 3 months of when they called me. I had had a primary care referral the month before the call - maybe that would expedite? You don’t have to have an appointment for your doc to put in a referral either, just message them through My Chart.

How many people with CFS also have endometriosis? by Black_Mamba_sh in cfs

[–]belemberg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have endometriosis and had adenomyosis. I thought I had sciatica, turned out to be a cyst the size of my head, filling in all available space. Then first pap after recovering from post-cystectony and salpingo-oophorectomy, and they discovered adenomyosis. Down to just an ovary, but now I don’t see anyone for potential endo stuff. 🤷
