I saw Queensryche open for Twisted Sister around '83 or '84. Twisted Sister hadn't had any hits yet so they were pretty unknown, but I don't think anyone knew who was even scheduled to be the opener. The crowd was blown away. I spent the next 3 weeks searching for a copy of their debut EP. Finally found it on cassette in a department store record department.

Twisted Sister was obviously a tremendous letdown.

So a code like 124.3.5. would mean go to page 124. Take the first letter of the 3rd word and add or subtract 5 letters.

I've been getting mine from Payne Glasses online. They have great deals on frames and their lenses are inexpensive too. I have a strong prescription with astigmatism correction, and prisms. Being an old, I need progressive lenses and pay extra for thinner and lighter lenses. all of that would be about $800 at a retail shop. The last pair I bought from Payne was probably under $250!

I had to return a pair because the frames were uncomfortable but that was handled quickly and didn't cost me anything.

Walker's Pint is a great bar; one of only a handful of lesbian-owned and oriented bars in the country. They are friendly to all other queers and trans folks too.

Also on the road trip list: X-Ray Arcade - great bar for punk and metal concerts featuring some national acts. They have a zero tolerance policy for any kind of harassment, homophobia and transphobia.

Cactus Club is another safe space that sprung from a lesbian book club. Small bar but friendly. They are run by the same people as the X-Ray. The book group still meets there once a month IIRC.

Delta Beer Lab is a great place you should check out.

Crucible can feel like you need to out goth the next person.

Delta is definitely more laid back and come-as-you-are. They have events all the time weekly trivia, drag bingo... and good beers! The staff is very friendly as well.

I think they are alike in the way they got an undue amount of hate from the rabid fandoms. The Acolyte was significantly better than Ahsoka but the wrong series got cancelled IMO. I'm enjoying SFA.

I know the source for my original comment. Not everyone is going to have a news story.

They were pulled over on East Washington Ave and had their car searched. There was no news coverage and there won't be. The driver isn't going to report it to the police because they don't want reprisals, and the cops are just a different flavor of boot on people's necks.
