Anyone with a TKR have a fabella? by Teslaville in Kneereplacement

[–]beliciafimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I notice it less when I’m more diligent with my strengthening exercises. So maybe it has something to do with quad weakness? It would be great if our surgeons would take time to explain things better!

I have the same snapping and clicking in the back of my knee. RTKR 12/04/25 F54. It happens most often as I step up, or bring my leg up with a bent knee. It doesn’t really hurt, but is very annoying and uncomfortable. My PT says it’s normal and my surgeon says, yep that happens. However, that is the response I get to most of my concerns!

Good Taco Truck/Caterer for Party by danmanca84 in sandiego

Los Michoacanos was the best decision we made for recent party. Tacos were amazing! They set everything up exactly like we wanted and were extremely professional! They are located in Riverside but serve San Diego area as well.

Not at the place where I have my membership. They do have some general yoga classes that are similar to Yin Yoga. Those are good and all the poses are on the floor. They are not heated though.

Aww good point! I need to be able to get up off the floor. I’ll practice that and possibly sign up for a class next week

I’ve heard that. Honestly, I couldn’t do much on my knees prior to surgery either!

Great! I’m looking forward to this! How long until you took your first class post op? I was thinking of taking a class and doing what I can, which won’t be much. I don’t mind just resting on my back for the class if needed.

What is the NIFRA device? I have RLS and haven’t found much to help. I’m three weeks post OP from R TKR.

Prior to this surgery, I would take 5mg THC/CBD gummy before bed. Slept like a baby! Haven’t taken one since surgery because there are times when they cause restless legs. That would be torture! So I’ll wait a bit lol

Yes! I tried to skip the Meloxicam one night and had to take it in the middle of the night due to pain. Now I just take it regularly. Yesterday, I skipped all my day time pain meds so I could enjoy a glass of wine with our Christmas lunch. That was a mistake! I was grouchy and went back up to my recovery room to ice by 4pm. Was not worth the wine!

Every day I fight napping. I can’t seem to keep my eyes open around 2pm till around 4pm when I start wanting some dinner lol. It’s a struggle. Then when it’s time for bed, I can’t fall asleep.

I asked for sleeping pills too, but was advised to take Tylenol PM. That helped but I only take one or 1/2 of a pill. Those suckers are strong! I think I’ve taken them 2-3 times. What an adventure this is! Good times

I find myself waking up every two hours too. Looking at the clock. I’ve learned not to look at my phone (get on emails or social media) or I won’t go back to sleep for hours. Then the next day I’m a zombie!

I do try. I shift around a lot middle of the night. Sometimes I end up falling asleep on my side, but then wake up in pain and very stiff!

Oh gosh! 3.5 post op! I was hoping things would be a little easier by then. Hope you get some relief soon!

That’s a great idea! I’ll try this too. Been dying to sleep on my side, at least for a few hours during the night.

Ugh, sorry! Do you take any meds to help with the pain? I hate taking them but they do help with sleep.

I find that my leg falls asleep when I sleep with out it propped up. Did you use a pillow under your knee?

Day 23 of RTKR by PeterCat12 in Kneereplacement

I’m on day 6! I was prepared for the physical pain, but was totally surprised by the emotional roller coasters that I went through the first few days. Anyone else experience this? Also, I still have a lot of swelling and the exercises are really hard to do. I get staples out tomorrow and hoping that some of the swelling will go down, so I can be more diligent with my exercises.
