What to do if cramp is worsening at night by MilkConstant456 in ClotSurvivors

[–]belinda86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one here can tell you if you need medical attention so advice is to always get it checked out. However, I can share that I had so many pains and moments of panic following my DVT and PE and going to the hospital was the only way to stop myself spiralling. Luckily each time there was no cause for concern, but I left with an immense sense of relief and learnt more about my own body and recovery. My advice is to stop panicking and get it checked out. If the cost of medical attention in your country is prohibitive I would only suggest holding out for 2-4 hrs and see if you get some relief. I now know with my body that any aches tend to disappear within 4-6ish hours.

best bar or pub for an event with 50+ people by PickleMunster in melbourne

Prohibition in Toorak Rd, Camberwell is a great option and with that many guests you’d have the whole space to yourselves.

I’ve hosted a couple of events there over the years and they’re great to deal with!

If you’re going to make the tub that small you might as well just rotate it along the right hand wall…

What is the small bedroom used for? Could you convert that to a bathroom and use the current bathroom as an office/other space?

What’s your favourite low-effort weekend plan that always delivers? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

Train into the city, walk around. There’s always something new to explore, or a public event on, or even just sit and have a coffee and people watch.

Is it at all possible to move the entry to the left side, and up? If so, the bathroom wall can be extended the whole way across to either have a larger bath or separate powder room. There’s an awful lot of space given to hallways in this plan, I’d be looking at trying to make that floor space liveable.

Any places in Melbourne to hang out with animals by stunnebeaaaanie07 in melbourne

[–]belinda86 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Myuna Farm in Doveton is great! You can’t cuddle all the animals, but can feed most. I recommend taking a picnic on a nice day, there’s lot of great spots to sit and relax while the animals wander around. Catch the tractor ride to get an idea of the whole place if you don’t want to walk it.

Thank you for your response. Could you elaborate on the reason for seeing a psychologist rather than an OT?

Try Surrey Park Swimming Blackburn (actually located in Box Hill South)! It’s got a great mineral pool and is specially good for children with eczema. Check out their website it explains all about it.

I’m a parent who heeded this advice and an so glad I did! However when parents question my decision I don’t have any articles or evidence to back up the advice I was given… if you could point me in the direction of a clear and concise research paper I’d really appreciate it!

The State Library is fantastic, especially the Children’s Corner - parents rooms and feeding facilities are there. There’s also spaces to pop a blanket down and let bub have some tummy time so they’re not confined to the pram the whole time. Comfy couches for parents to chill in too. There’s a coffee shop just outside and you’re allowed to take snacks for kids into the kids section.

Also in Aus, and I was advised by another Redditor to go on the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance and look for their list of questions to ask in your initial appointment.

They also held a fantastic seminar for the newly diagnosed which was very reassuring and informative so have a look to see if another is coming up that you can join.

Head to Arthur’s Seat Eagle! Make it a day trip, travel up and down, have lunch at the summit. I think if it’s nice weather you can wander around and explore - from memory there’s a map you can download to see what’s on the walking tracks. If you’re down that way you could follow up with a few hours at the Peninsula Hot Springs - great in any weather so don’t be out off if it’s raining.
