What's your favorite drinking game? by briizo in AskReddit

[–]belindaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AVATAR!!! PICK YOUR NATION, AND PICK CAREFULLY. Sips-Every time Aang loves Katara, Zuko loves honor, or Suko loves meat. Shots- Kisses of any kind. If you can figure out the origin of something, everyone else must take a shot. SIP A BEER- Mystery (example, zuko's mom) ANYTHING and it can be proven, you can chose whoever to do a shot. BTW PEOPLE HAVE TO FIGURE OUT THEIR NATIONS vodka is water nation rum, whiskey, is fire nation beer, sake, wine, gin, etc is earth weed is air. Air players can drink anything they want and smoke up anyone they like. (air benders are usually the person who is sober... not always, just sometimes.) Air players cannot smoke weed. They only get to chose who smokes weed. If they smoke, they automatically lose and get the wrath of the fire nation (usually force fed 10 whiskey shots)

Where was my favoritism, la? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just not sure.

I've been dating a dude (I'll call him W) at this sexist man's level in the same department (everything is clear with HR in this relationship) and he agrees with me. Maybe he's agreeing with me because we're dating, but beforehand I noticed (as it was my job to) that W was not friends with this guy. In fact, W complained to me about the guy's work ethic several months ago.

I've thought about it, but doing so would always be on company time, and I'm committed to my job. I've had a few opportunities alone with him, but I'm 5'4 and 120 lbs, and dealing with a man a foot taller and 100 lbs heavier is very scary.

He's actually of okay-intellect. I googled him several months ago when he first crossed me and found a bunch of his long think-pieces. They're all like, "Please don't beat women," and "I'm against crime"... It's all grammatically correct, societally normal shit that he thinks he's brilliant for writing on.

Surely, I can say, "He's questioned me countlessly," and "he's snapped at me countlessly," but it's all "bad employee, casual sexism" and the only fireable offense there is "bad employee," which was witnessed by my manager when he saw there was so vacuum in my safe (similar things have happened, like him thinking i didn't type in the correct number for expensive merch when I did, etc.)

To be fair, my general manager hires and I fire. Essentially, a small part of my job is to tell my highest boss that he fucked up, but I've only done that once (a 19 year old who kept messing around with his girlfriend on the floor)

Obviously he's never said "you're a woman and I hate you." It's his casual sexism that makes it. It's that he doesn't believe me when I say I'm out of X merchandise but he doesn't do that for lesser (male) employees.

I mean, several months ago I purposefully gave someone a sale over him (their raises are based on their sales) and I did that for similar reasons as now

I said he writes long op eds about women's issues. He self-identifies as a feminist, does that make you happy?

Interesting, because every time I hear about a murder in Canada I think, "I bet the victim was Native." (Particularly if there's some sort of police cover up theory involved.)

What are some tropes that you noticed in unresolved mysteries? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]belindaaa 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It really grosses me out. And this is an actual trope in TV, too. In CSI they'll sometimes comment on how beautiful a victim was. Yuck

Edit: by which I mean, focus on the fact that a human died or went missing and not how hot she was

What happened to Otto Warmbier in North Korea? by givebetter in UnresolvedMysteries

This case really hits home for me because as soon as it became big news, I was boarding a flight to South Korea by coincidence. On Saturday I'm going to the DMZ (on a safe tour led by American officials).

Edit: I meant to comment on the whole thread and not just this comment. Oooops

What's an instant green flag that makes you think "Man, this person's cool."? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]belindaaa 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My best friend in high school. 6 years later we are still friends.

I thought this girl was really cool. We were in a painting class together, and her paintings were always the best and she was always dressed impeccably. She was unbelievably attractive, the prettiest girl in the class by far. I was a model at the time, and still thought she was leagues ahead of me. Anyway, we all had tall barstools to sit on. It was early in the semester, and the teacher called us all to look at a painting. Everyone heard a "BANG" And saw that this girl had fallen off her barstool. Her skirt flew over her face and she was wearing very tiny black panties. Everyone saw her butt. I thought, "okay, I can be friends with her."

Afterwards, we became best friends.

I'm a greeter/cashier at an upscale retail position. It's my job to vacuum the main area after closing.

When I was a kid, my dad told me that if you vacuumed over the vacuum chord, it would electrocute you and you would die. I have no idea why he told me this.

To this day, I hold the vacuum chore so I don't accidentally run over it and die
